π - Pre Season Friendly β½οΈ - Vale of Leven U19s π - Drymen, G63 0BD π - Saturday 21st July 2018 β - 10am Full time result 2-2. Lewis Guy & Jack McIlveen with the goals. Cracking run out for the lads today in the first pre season game, 2-0 up at half time. However there was a a lot of changes in the second half and naturally the tempo dropped which then allowed Vale of Leven back into it. Excited about the season ahead with a few more additions happening over the coming weeks, should be a successful season.... I hope!

4-1 defeat to Harmony Row, terrible day. Played most of the game with 10 men due to injuries/call offs and also with a team mostly filled with trialists.
We did however play a bounce game against Newmains amateurs last night and won 11-1
Next up is a game on Saturday away to Johnstone Burgh u21 premier league side. Match will take place at McMaster Sports Centre at 2pm.

Full time result:
Johnstone Burgh 21s 3 v 2 Albion Rovers U19s
Goal scorers for ourselves were: Morgan Dunlop & Paul McGroarty
Despite the scoreline there was a lot of positives to take from todayβs game, a brand new side a couple of trialists the boys faired well against a team a few years older than them.
The lads went 1-0 up through a penalty when Ewan McGuinness was brought down in the box, Morgan despatched of it well. Losing a goal just before HT was a blow, then losing another to a great strike from 25/30yrds early in the 2nd half. However the lads reacted well and got themselves back into with a brilliant header by Paul McGroarty. Although the game looked in the last 10mins or so as if it could have went either way Johnstone Burgh scored with only seconds left on the clock.
Good run out for the lads and worthy exercise. Johnstone Burgh are a very experienced U21s side who finished 3rd in last year premiere league, reach the quarter final of Scottish cup and league cup winners.
Early doors still for the young squad who are still getting used to each other.
Good luck to Johnstone Burgh 21s for the rest of the season. ππ»β½οΈ
Next match is against Airdrieonians U18s/reserve team next Sunday at Cliftonhill 2pm ko

Lads, play Gartcairn this thursday night 7pm kick off at calderhead high school. Last night the match never went ahead. One of our coaches had a our teamslines, however prior to kick off he had a family emergency he could not make it to the game, however during his family emergency he had sent a picture of the team lines which the referee was happy to accept and proceed with the game if the opposition was happy to do so. Gartcairn were note and the game was cancelled and the result will be discussed by committee members of the league to decide the outcome. In my eyes very poor show from gartcairn. i have taken charge of a lot of games this sort of stuff happens never have i heard of anyone claiming a tie. next up is Canter FC on sunday at st andrews high school. 2pm KICK OFF.

Exactly, in terms of the rule book they are well within there right but its u19s football. To cancel a cup tie over that reeks of desperation in my view.
Didn't even want to play a friendly match.

Former Rovers player Jamie McKenzie is the Gartcairn gaffer these days - may or may not have been involved as it's not the main team.

No it was the Chairman Robert McCallums team.
Jamie is a good guy he wasn't involved.
Lesson learned on our part but these things can happen from time to time.
