It's not being wise after the event but it was a travesty that Barry especially was allowed to leave but I also saw a lot of potential in McGinley and he should also have been kept. Regardless of the score today both these guys would waltz into the current Rovers X1. And who did we sign to replace Barry? That would be Josh Mullin - our best player this season and a big part of our Championship winning side. Don't see full-time clubs lining up to sign Barry - just sayin'

Josh was brought in as a Right Back, but could deputise in a few other positions. Turnbull was the direct replacement for Barry as both players position is/was left back.

I think Josh was signed in the January of 2014 on a pre-contract from a junior club. Ladeside? So he was on his way before the Reidy saga in late April of that season.
I agree that he was primarily signed as right back cover/competition so not a direct replacement for Barry although he did play a few games there when Kyle was injured. It worked out well in the end for both us and obviously Josh.
