Robert Jones ex East Fife striker has joined the club. A big thank you to the Albion Rovers' Squad Fund donations for making this happen. www.facebook.com/arsf2016/

The name doesn’t ring any bells - can anyone shed some light on this fellas footballing past, appearances, goal scoring record etc?
Very little online. Also safe to assume that he was without a club as signing made outwith the transfer window(s).

Brogan was complaining about the defence, surly he would get a defender in

It's not as if the strikers were scoring loads either Chris!

An it doesn't matter if the defence lose 12 or just 1 if we can't score any!

A bit of good news. Saw him as 'trialist' in recent reserve game v Queens Park. Big and strong with definite goals in him.

Couple of comments on P & B East Fife page regarding Rob Jones signing for Vers
`He never really got an extended run in the side so it's difficult to judge how good a signing he'll be. Scored a lot of goals in the Lowland League before joining us apparently and always looked handy enough when he got on the park. Big guy but not necessarily a 'target man' was my impression. I'd imagine he'll be decent signing, especially given how dire things are looking for you guys this season. `
`Will be a better option than the majority of your players. Has a point to prove as wasn’t given too much of a chance at us to get in front of Duggan but looked handy enough`

Duggan is a good player, can understand why he didn't get first choice but he only made 10 appearances for the club. That's low even to come on as a sub
Jones at bsc before east fife

Have to agree with Chris on this. A defender should have been Brogan’s priority. A striker, with very limited experience in the SPFL, seems like a waste of the Squad Fund’s dosh. We’re crying out for a backbone. Someone who’ll organise the defence during the game and keep the younger players right. I have an awful feeling that this won’t work out well at all. The Manager has consistently promised us big things - I recall Gracie being the best thing since sliced bread.

Anything thats going to improve the side then great....however...at this point in time after the first quarter has been fulfilled there was a supposed review of our situation and as manager said judge me then..still waiting.smells slightly of an appeasement of fans tbh the signing but i hope he hits the ground running for us as by jings we need it, defence still needs sorted big style tho. end of the day tho the same questions wont go away.

Only at Cliftonhill could you appease the fans by signing a player with the fans fund. Any signing should be welcomed , don’t know anything about the guy but a striker who can hold the ball up is badly needed. I hope he knows what he’s signed up for with JB style.

Is this new signing confirmation that the manager has had his meeting with the chairman and that he’s had the vote of confidence?
Either way , welcome to Cliftonhill Robert and best of luck
