Rab, I did post a suggestion way back on September 5th as to a way forward. This required a response from the BOD - none was forthcoming. Do you remember about 14 or 15 years ago when the club was in a bad way (at least its League status was not in jeopardy) there was a meeting, if I remember correctly in Corsewall street community centre, of all interested parties. Out of that meeting Frank Meade, Lew McWilliam emerged and, together with Robert Watt and others took the reins, stabilised the club, got HMRC of its back and took the club forward culminating in that memorable day at Annan. Don`t forget also Rab, that to most of the posters on here, you too are anonymous, so not sure quite why your are picking on `timewilltell` out of all the others.

Rab, really nerdy I know, but out of idle curiosity, I scrolled through the seven pages of members of this message board and could only positively identify 18 individuals - and some of those rarely post.

All the talk of business plans, potential sales, LL, club going under, why's where's who's and how's are missing one large factor that no one and I mean no one has resolved or breached in recent memory and that is the APATHY of the town of Coatbridge.
You can have the best business men, ground share or sell cliftonhill but if folk are not coming through the door then the financial peril hangs over us. Arses through the door is our money maker.
I don't have the answer for this but surely this is the crux of the issue.
A certain proportion of blame for the club's financial management would need to be directed at the current board but realistically they are not magicians. They wouldn't need to make desperate decisions if they had a steadier stream of cash coming in.
Businesses, business men/women and business models are nothing without the folk dispensing their cash.
Question is who can grow this club and more importantly be trusted to do it with the Rovers at heart.
Anyway that's my complete business novice tuppence in

The key to the apathy of the people of Coatbridge would be a 4G pitch and the community clubs being brought under one roof.
The last few years have saw more Yellow & red tops on kids than at any point in my memory, thanks mainly to the good work of Ants McMinn in setting up and the volunteers who run these clubs across the age groups.
Unfortunately they’re playing at public parks & not Cliftonhil. If we had the pitch with all clubs playing there not to mention hiring to other teams. Have the stadium as a hub for the community and give all kids free access with parents who pay for their kids getting
reduced prices as their helping the club with monthly fees.
Also the other way of getting people in is don’t sign junior players.
Crowds were up under Darren Young & first few months of Brian Kerr.

Ginty I am sorry to disappoint you, but most of the camps run by the club has very few or no kids wearing an Albion rovers top!! Also the community work was a paid job so don't get why your singling out one person, when they were paid to do it. Also I have had more positive fed back when Shaun Higgens did then anyone else.

Absolutely to all of the above, this could be a big investment but the future of the club would be a lot healthier for it. Much like your saying about more kids wearing the yellow and red, if more folk were talking about us as a community hub then perhaps attachment to the club will grow.
As I say I thought I would drop the apathy bit in as I think it can be neglected a bit when talking about finances of the club.

I’m not talking about the camps, I’m talking about the boys clubs. Be it ARFC or Cliftonhill.

Alan Trouten and John Gemmell before him were paid to do a job and had no problem singling them out for fantastic work that they did in their times for ARFC.

I know things are not great the club just now but the thought of George Peat controlling the rovers turns my blood cold. also I would have no confidence in any others in the consortium who would be willing to get into bed with him. not sure who David Caldwell is but what are his credentials to run a football club?

He doesn't really know who he is either hahaha He has a propper split personality which really leaves him with no credibility what so ever (think of Lord of the rings and the way Gollum talks to himself)

As for DC...ex professional footballer, successful businessman....quite a rare combination I would have thought.....

Chuckled at the Lord of the Rings reference. Before it was posted I was thinking that the agm would be interesting to see if there was any white horses tied up outside. Or more likely Nazgul horses!

I think controlling might be a bit OTT but having him on the board in any shape or form should be a worry to any fan of any club. What are DC credentials as a ‘successful businessman’ not being flippant Grant, just keen to know. Still no word on other members of this so called consortium.
