I can only assume they have made him some sort of exceptional offer he couldn't refuse, otherwise, that's an odd move in my opinion. A bad loss for us. Good luck to ally but think he had ability to move to a bigger club. strange one.

Fair play to Ally. We'll miss his goals but given his record towards the end of the campaign I'm not surprised there was interest from elsewhere. Kind of hard to believe now that he struggled to get into the starting eleven at the beginning of the season.

Manager has said we can't compete when teams are offering silly money

I just hope for his sake he hasn`t made the same mistake his brother made when he left us for Stranraer. Spent most of the season warming the bench and ended up in the Juniors a year later. Travel will be a killer during the winter - think Brechin train in Perth or Dundee

Brechin? A downward step if anything. What a shame; one of our top players in recent years. But Brechin? Oh well; money talks, as they say. Good news about those who are staying, though. I'm sure we'll manage...Thanks, Ally Love.

Silly money? No silly money involved. He was offered a 1 year deal with Rovers. Brechin have came in and offered a 2 year deal. Sad to see him go as he was a favourite but its a no brainer to look after himself and take the security of a longer contract. How can a team in the same league as ourselves be seen as a downward step? This is chronic chat.

They finished below us in the league, so looks downwards tae me!

So we win a league, stay up the next league and now that makes those below us a backwards step? Lets not forget where we have came from, many many years kicking about the 3rd division with East Stirling. I might be wrong but Brechin are a well established league 1 team and have been there longer than us.
EDIT: went back a few years to look at Brechin's league table positions.
2010/2011 - 4th Scottish 2nd Division 2011/2012 - 8th Scottish 2nd Division 2012/2013 - 3rd Scottish 2nd Division 2013/2014 - 8th League 1 2014/2015 - 4th League 1 2015/2016 - 7th League 1.
Is joining Brechin from us really a downwards step?

They will and have already started doing that. Sorry to see Ally go

Brechin have a solid set up, nice wee ground etc. Regardless of one seasons outcome they cant be looked at as a downwards step from us. We all need to be realistic and realise players dont see us as a step up, even though we are in League 1.
