Very cruel result. Decision to allow second goal was dreadful. Oh well. First half performance was very good.

Much better today and at last we are competing again which is great. Few things I'd add to previous posts.
Yes we were the better team 1st half, absolutely no doubts, however the possession and balls into the box never resulted in their keeper having a save to make (that i remember)
When we have a corner, can we please please please stop the messing about and get a ball into the box. Numerous times today we tried short corners which ended in us having to chase a counter attack after sending players forward. This does my head in. Please give ourselves a chance.
The boy at right back is a superb find. Brilliant display, really enjoyed his performance.
Worst performance on the park was the ref. Dreadful display. But lets not make that cloud things, we gave them a goal a start and never recovered.
Things definitely appear to be heading in the right direction under the new manager. Fingers crossed it keeps going that way.

Agree with pretty much all that's been said. Referee had a shocker but I don't think it cost us the game. Jack might want to skip to the next post at this stage............... but PJ was at fault for the first goal. Cross into the box which he punched, under a bit of pressure, straight up into the air. The ball fell behind him and he found himself out of position allowing the Peterhead player to nod over the line easily. He also came running waaaaaaaaaay out his box in another rush of blood to the head and was fortunate not to be lobbed for 2-0.
Second goal saw two Rovers players collide and the ref allowed the play to continue. Were they badly hurt? Couldn't tell from where I was but by the letter of the law the game should have been stopped. Would we have been complaining if it had happened at the other end? I doubt it.
We did create plenty chances in a first half that we dominated apart from a spell in the middle. Tbh though I don't really remember either keeper being tested or having much by way of a shot to save.
As for the positives - once again there are many. The team now actually look like a fitba team. They're organised and aggressive enough. The bomb scare defending has been replaced by a simple clearing of lines. We play some nice stuff on the deck at times too. We lack a goal scorer but so do most teams at this level.
Credit where it's due to Kevin and his management team, including JD. What a difference. Tell you what, we'll be giving Spartans et al something to chew over. Listening to some conversations today it seems like there are a few more new players coming in too. That can only be a good thing.
Special shout out to Larry who won the 50:50 draw and is planning to sponsor a player. He won it a wee wile ago and bought a strip and made a donation to Reidy's testimonial fund. Top guy is Larry.
Crowd was 332 today. 112% increase according to Peter I think? He's good with numbers is Peter, lol!

Definitely going in the right direction, unfortunately a goalkeepers mistake gets highlighted more but I'm sure the keeper will learn from his mistakes and come back stronger.

The new players are gelling together well and there was a fluency to our play - especially in the first half when we knitted together some good moves . When McAllister went off I thought it may be our day - but the big guy that came on proved to be a handful, and when you are bottom the unlucky breaks always seem to regularly occur - witness the first goal and a rare error by the keeper that seemed to galvanise Peterhead. The second goal occurred after a dreadful piece of refereeing, that if it had happened in the Premier league would be analysed and poured over by the media. The latest in an unsettling period for officialdom. At the end of the game the appreciation that Mick Dunlop gave to the support typifies the consummate professional he is , unlike some of our other ex players who often went out of their way to antagonise our support if they scored or came off the pitch at the end.

Very unfortunate result, first half Rovers dominated and I was very impressed at how well they moved the ball forward, BUT as soon as the ball got to the opposition box the attack fell apart (no one to play the ball too) and never really tested the Peterhead keeper too much, do think a good finisher is on the cards in the January window, Peterheads quality showed as they didnt have as many chances, but took them well, second Peterhead goal should never have counted as play should have been stopped for a headknock (SFA rules, or SFA rules "when they want").
Overall impressed with the way they played in the first half and even going behind in the second half it was good to see a bit of fight in the team and players that look like they actually give a s**t, Peterhead were always going to be a tough team, we need to keep playing the way we're playing (with some more signings to come apparently) and we can get off bottom spot.
Spoke to a few fellow Rovers fans in Owen's after the game and they also feel the team is heading in a positive direction, just need to keep getting behind the team lads 🖒

Leaving aside the referee's performance - that was another excellent battling show from the guys today. We matched one of the two title challengers all the way. Their first goal was obviously a very unfortunate mistake from our goalie & the second was a decent finish.
However, feeling very confident that we'll avoid bottom spot.
ONAWARDS & UPWARDS INDEED!!!

Should have said too - Michael Hardie, MOTM again today. Some player this guy at this level. Wears his heart on his sleeve. Took a booking for the team in the second half when the Peterhead guy was going through on goal. Stepped inside umpteen times wrong footing the Peterhead players, played more than a few decent crosses into the box, had at least one (best forgotten) shot at goal too. He is a find.

Night & day compared to last time Peterhead we’re here. Last time was 4 going on 10. Yes there wasn’t much end product but you’re going to get that with so many changes. I thought defending for 2nd goal was calamitous, did the RB need to come across. Had a few pints before game so might be wrong, highlights may prove me wrong.
All in all massive signs of improvement, and confident Kevin will get his first win soon. He bloody deserves it. At least he’s got us all looking forward to games.
Also the board take plenty flack on here, so credit where it’s due that they’re backing the manager. If they held money back to January then it’s a bit of a catch 22. If we’d spent it in summer would we be inthis position, or would JB have blew it on more juniors. Maybe a god send that we didn’t spend it then

A battling first half performance without creating much in the way of clear cut chances. To say we were robbed is takng it too far, can anyone remember the Peterhead goalie having a save to make? Second half was pretty poor- PJ made an unusual mistake which really did take the wind out our sails. Granted play should have been stopped leading up to the second goal but we never ever did look like scoring. We do look as if we have more about us and that's with 6 new players which really does make a nonsense of the low budget let's sign hunners of 2nd/3rd tier juniors policy.

Big improvement all over from the Rovers I had seen earlier in the season.
Rovers better team in the 1st half but the manner in which we lost that 1st goal was just dreadful.
No real end product from us and I think Mick Dunlop could have played that game with his slippers on.
Other than a weak, looping header into the keepers arms in the 1st half that was our one and only attempt on goal.
Been touched on by someone else but our quality from corner kicks was dreadful.
I counted 4.The first we couldn't clear the first Peterhead defender and the next 3 we tried short corners that were all a shambles and had us frantically scampering back.
We need something up front or our good work will lead to nothing.
Peterhead have some cracking players but by and large we coped well.
Play should have been stopped for the 2nd Peterhead goal due to a head knock. The ref had a good view, looked at the Rovers player lying motionless on the pitch, and allowed play to continue. Shocking.
No complaints over the result as they were far stronger second half. Our season won't be defined by results against Peterhead.
Well done to the manager for at least assembling a team with some guts and some determination.
I don't honestly see a change happening our league position but night and day from the JB era.

Regarding head knock. It is the norm for the game to be stopped immediately. Would we have complained if it had been the other way round. No. As per Hampden last week. It should have been stopped regardless of where it was. However can't help think if it had been at the other end then the game would have been stopped. Newlands has previous and doesn't know the meaning of fair play.

I don't honestly see a change happening our league position but night and day from the JB era. Our season won’t be defined by results against Peterhead, you’re spot on. But I disagree with the last bit. In the past 3 weeks we have been unfortunate to ‘only draw’ with the team sitting in 4th and in the play off places, went to Hampden and were the best team for the most part. Then more than matched the team with the biggest budget in the league for at least 45 minutes. We have still to play Berwick twice, if we continue playing like we are, there is absolutely no reason we can’t take 6 points from both of those 6 pointers. Then it’s a 1 point swing in the rest of the results. We need only better 1 of Berwick results... it ain’t over, not by a long way!! Mon the wee Rovers!!!!
