We can agree John Gemmell is an experienced player.
I could probably count on one hand the amount of times I have posted about the Rovers board. There are usually much bigger fish to fry.

Is this a new thread or have we just 'bumped' one of the older threads on exactly the same subject ? When we say bring him 'home' we'd probably need to clarify with him where home is because off the top of my head I reckon he has had 9 or 10 senior clubs. Are the people clamouring for him back the same people who said JB's policy of signing players from the Juniors was deeply flawed ? Good news is if Big John came back we wouldn't need to be bother with a contract as he was always first out the door at the end of the season whenever any other club came calling. Good old tommy, see your still a complete ballbag with usual negative comments. Anything you need to know about anytime I have left please feel free to ask but you seem to know it all already. Clown

We are now entering a critical period of the season and a proven experienced goal scorer and a striker with a bit of creativity is what we need. Just look at others in the league with the McAllisters/Hendersons and Goodwillies banging in the goals - I am sure he would relish the challenge , that could help turn our season around and save our league status.

Id have JG back in a minute, certainly knows where the goals are, something we could do with in the run in to end of the season.

Ballbag? Is that a posh bawbag? I thought bawbag would have been a bit stereotypical of what tommy may persevere to be my usual manner!!!

Guys no one is denying Big John's rightful place in Rovers history. I get that I honestly do.
I'm as nostalgic as the next fan but we are talking abut the here and now.
There is nothing more I would like than to turn back the clock and see a young Ray Franchetti pull on a Rovers strip and bang in the goals to see Rovers to safety but do you know what? It's not going to happen.
Despite the big fellas choice of words it's not negative to say I don't think this player is the answer for us.
There is the ultimate litmus test though. He is available and sitting under Kevin Harpers nose. Is the manager going to sign him....

That is the managers choice. I believe he is still capable of doing us a job. If he comes back, brilliant. If not, I respect the managers decision. We do need someone of his ilk though.

Jimbo after the Peterhead game I posted about how well we played in the 1st half especially but for all our nice approach work we had no attempt on goal other than a weak header.
We are crying out for a striker and this wont have escaped the managers attention.
100% agree that a big bustling target man is what is required. Here's hoping.

I think it would be 4 but my maths has always been bad. I'm sure we could lob in a testimonial as a sweetener.
