If the player couldn't play for say 'personal reasons' I would accept that 100%.
If a player decides to make no contact with the Club and just doesn't turn up then that to me is unacceptable.
As you say we don't know the full facts.

My own initial reaction was quite a cynical one but I am open to being convinced. There are genuine possible reasons for not being able to make contact: illness, injury or being in custody to name but a few.

True but in most cases you would get someone else to pass on a message.

I think it all hinges on the manager and putting our trust in him.
I'm in two minds. When I first heard I thought never play for the club again. Then after the match seeing how bad we were without him (young Fagan isn't up to it- sorry no offence) I'm thinking can they work something out like Paul McGrath of Man U and Villa fame.

To be fair to Fagan I have seen him perform reasonably well at RB and CB, though Saturday maybe wasn't his finest hour.
