Outstanding. What a picture. Great team. Great characters. Great memories. I was a ballboy back then and i mind rab mcculloch going nuts at me behind his goal. I think alloa were opposition (could be wrong). They scored but the nets werent pinned down right and the ball flew out corner of the net. The ref asked me if it was a goal ? Being the honest young man i was i shat masel and said yes much to Rabs displeasure !!!! Then my dad right after the game !!!! Who needs VAR when you have honest ballboys. Great pic.

Back in the 1980s when I was refereeing my match got called off for a frozen pitch , I headed to Cliftonhill to see Rovers v Clyde. Late on in the first half the referee fell heavily and cracked his head on the hard ground. At half time it was decided he had concussion - Rovers Director Sam Goodwin sought me out (he knew I had the badge) and asked if I would run the line - far side - that terracing was open in those days. Anyway, late on it was 3-3 when Rovers appeared` to `score` the winner.....except the far side linesman (me) had his flag up as the Rovers player had punched the ball into the net. `Goal` chalked off. Cue....me getting serious abuse from Cathie and Joe O`Hare (bless `em) who were standing right behind me. Got a fair bit of stick at full time and a right black look from Sam Goodwin....but after he calmed down he agreed that the right decision was made
