.......never ever ever pull a stunt like that again like the appointment at the start of the season.
We should enjoy yesterday as it was great to see the old spirit back again but it's been a dire season and we finished 9th. We should be looking to raise the bar a bit higher next season.

No comment 😉. Let's wait until after the party next week.

I agree Bucky. The appointment of Brogan and buying into his 'average juniors and Alloa weans' signing policy was a scandal. It was mismanagement and corporate negligence on a horrendous scale. Added to that there was the continued support for Brogan and the complete abdication of responsibility towards sacking him when it was abundantly clear nothing was working. Credit ultimately goes to Brogan himself for, belatedly, doing the right thing.
My question is - where is the money going to come from? If there are people waiting in the wings who can put (or bring) money, structure, governance and expertise into the club then now is the time to come forward. There was plenty being said ahead of the AGM about potential coups etc etc and it all came to nothing. Is that it or are there genuine, competent people with good intentions ready, willing and able to come and help out?
Yesterday's 'day oot' to Engurland was a lot of fun for a lot of people but where will they be next week? I've been going to Rovers games for a few years now - not as long as some admittedly - but there were faces there yesterday I've never seen before. It was the same against Celtic in the cup. I'd no idea there were as many "Rovers fans", all with scarves too by the way. I can see the attraction of a game against Celtic but what was it yesterday that made people turn up? The subsidised bus maybe? The good weather? A genuine affection or 'soft spot' for the club? I've genuinely no idea but something struck a chord.
Anyhoo, my point is that without someone who knows what they are doing at Board level; and a proper fan base we will find ourselves in this position every year. We got lucky this time but we won't always be so lucky. Look at last season where we had avoided 10th place until the final day.
Until the Board and fan base changes we'll be aiming for 9th at best every year I reckon if we're being realistic. As fans we can hope for more but as plenty have said on here before: "ultimately it's the hope that kills you".

No comment 😉. Let's wait until after the party next week. From what I recall I stayed fairly quiet but knew at the time it was a distasterous appointment. Mind blowing that Brogan was described at a Trust meeting 4 days before he resigned as "the perfect fit". I'm not 100% convinced the current board have learned just the same as Zi don't think Caldwell is 100% trustworthy. I'm sure they will reflect I just hope they remember that the fans have had to pay £180 for a season ticket or £14 at the gate as well as being expect to buy not two but three replica strips ( why do we need three?). This is the first time in 20 years that I haven't bought a season ticket and I'm not alone.

My point of view on the topic is well known and hasn't changed. You make some good points there. My question to you, and others like you, is what would need to be done to get you back as a season ticket holder?

The question for Rovers is about having Directors who are going to provide a foundation for the manager to run the tesm competatively while running a viable football club. To be honest I don't want the existing board replaced with someone who wants to use it as a platform to spout their crap as well as spending money that club doesn't have.

Would you say that a team that has picked up 20 points (or even 17 points) in 9 games at the business end of the season, a time when Kevin had only just managed to put HIS team together could be classed as better than dross?
Are those results enough to get you back through the gates?
EDIT: Absolutely not having a dig, just hoping that the boys have done enough to bring more fans back to the club with their performances, work rate and desire to do well for this club 💛❤️

Are those results enough to get you back through the gates? The dross I was referring to was the first half of the season. You cannot bring in a group of Juniors from 2nd and 3rd tiers ans Alloa's weans and build a League 2 team. The case is beyond reasonable doubt.

I have never really gone away JD. I have picked my games this season by paying in at the gate. Overall it's been a poor season only saved by the last quarter. Rovers are and always will be underdogs. I'm used to seeing us shooting ourselves in the foot only this time we blasted half our face off. The fans should never be taken for granted in that they will always cough up regardless.

Over to the Board. What's next seasons plan? Nothing has been signed yet, albeit its early. 80% of the team/management team could still walk away to better offers in June.
Let's have a party next week first. Then those, and many other points, need to be answered by the board.

Does the board get any credit for bringing in Kevin?

I agree 100% with the last bit of what you said. But you posted saying you didn’t get a season ticket this year for the first time in a long time because you refuse to pay to watch utter dross. So I’m tying to get a direct answer to what hasn’t been a direct enough question. 😂😂 Have the performances and results in the last quarter done enough (assuming the gaffer can convince a large proportion of this squad to stay) to convince you to renew your season ticket?

Assuming the BOD can convince the gaffer to renew his contract by making an appropriate personal offer to him and his backroom staff....and a sensible budget to work with..........

Well the above would have had to happen to allow the gaffer to even try to convince the squad to stay.... so yes 👍🏼
