As has been the case over the last few years , the club will be organising Saturday morning tidy ups starting on Saturday 25 May. These will run from 10 to 1. As a club we depend greatly on the help of volunteers and it would be great if you could give us a hand over the summer to get the ground ready for the stadium's centenary season.

Totally daft comment Bawhead - you should be ashamed of yourself! Perhaps folk were waiting to hear the date of the first tidy up??? Ronnie - as I said on Facebook last week, I'll be there. Prof

Yeah, all those who work Saturdays should be ashamed of themselves! Think before you post?

For many people who work during the week Saturdays are family time....its crap like that comment above that will just drive more people away. We already have the smallest crowds in the League we can`t afford to piss people off by telling them `they are not true supporters`.

To be fair, Ronnie didn’t ask for people to confirm if they would help. He’s given the dates and time, so if people can make it just turn up.

I have come on previous occasions to remove snow, rogue vegetation and the like but currently have a situation which I do not intend to discuss here, but which I believe is a higher priority for my spare time, probably for the foreseeable future. Others who have the club at heart may have a hundred and one other valid reasons for not being in a position to help at the moment. Bawhead - what a uniquely appropriate handle.

when the tidy up begins, we need to fix/ tidy outside the main entrance,of the stadium it makes the ground when passing bye look ruff and out of sorts, and those bushes growing over the wall, need to make the front look respectful and inviting, need paint on the long wall, light brown and those doors to.

Certainly opened a Hornets nest with my previous comments.Apologies to anyone I may have offended. We do need as many supporters as possible to attend and bring any garden tools with them.

Firstly, I have said many times that the efforts of the Thursday Club are heroic and in many ways keep the club going and save us a fortune. I can understand Bawhead's frustration when during the summer the Saturday tidy up group is basically the Thursday group.
The club appreciates that people help the club in other ways and also have other commitments.
However, the close season gives us a chance to get things done that can't been done during the season and if anyone can lend a hand on one or more Saturday mornings you would be doing a great service to the club and would be made most welcome.

Firstly and most importantly Ronnies call was voluntary not compulsary. Second many Rovers supporters over the years have given their free time through selling programmes and 50/50 tickets, weeding, sweeping floors, strimming grass the list is endless. It's been a long season for the fans and they have paid up with their money through season tickets and purchasing not two but THREE replica tops. And thats watching absolute dross for 3/4 of the season. If you are looking to get more people to get involved encouragement would suit better than shaming.
