Nope. I dont want rid of the grass either hence my post. However putting in a 4g pitch to generate income and reduce spend (on St Ambrose) is the way forward. No-one is stating this is cheap or easy but can be done if the appropriate channels are used. Not the only way forward, you could put 7 aside parks on the wasteland/car park behind the goals. This will generate income and reduce the spend at St Ambrose but without the horrid astro for Saturday’s matches. Or put the 4g pitch in an entirely different location and keep the grass for Saturdays.

So now we are buying land to build a custom 4g complex??
It must be some amazing plans you have for this wasteland if you’re coming up with that idea to ‘save’ the land you’ve earmarked for whatever.

I did, where you said about all the great plans you have and have discussed on here... all I’ve seen is ‘I have a cunning plan’ 😉Blackadder style, without ever giving any substance. 🤷🏽♂️

I said that I have put forward ideas as have others and none have been acted upon. I also made it clear that no-one is going to post detailed plans on an (un)official noticeboard. Its just not going to happen for the reasons I have already stated. Given, also, that people on the forum are due to publish very detailed plans (!?) it would be good if the club actually do that. So, as an employee of said club. Can you list all the current initiatives that you are aware of at the club (not just the ones you are involved in), provide the detail and progress against each initiative and the impact it is having, positive or negative, on the Club whether it be finances, community, facilities improvement etc. Now this is over and above the volunteers set up which enable the club to operate on a day to day basis. Ronnie has highlighted the good work already that is being carried out. So, for example. What is your current understanding of Target 500, all the details and milestones, progress to date, how the fans are involved and how all the employees have been engaged in the process to drive this, key/major, initiative forward (as stated at the AGM and in the Advertiser). An update on how all the initiatives would be appreciated and genuinely there will be many people on this forum that would love to pitch in and help. Distance is no object now given the internet, instant messaging and online collaboratively working is now the norm.

What would you do Jaydee ?...you have been around Rovers for a year now so you know the `lie of the land`. Firstly, I would encourage everyone to stop the backbiting and point scoring. IF Prorege has ideas and has used his position as a platinum season ticket holder to have reasoned talks with members of the board and offered his assistance and the board have decided to dismiss him then I’d be surprised, but would have to assume they have reasons. IF people think that posting on this forum counts as ‘contacting’ the club with ideas then it doesn’t surprise me in the slightest that the club doesn’t reply. The priority is the first team and getting a competitive one on the park - I believe the board are looking to back the gaffer and do this (learning from mistakes, which is great). The talk about the pathway and youth set up - if it ain’t broke don’t fix it comes to mind. 7 players played for the reserves from the 19’s this season, 1 has actually made an appearance for the first team. I don’t know how Stenny, or any of the other clubs mentioned would stack up in comparison, but regardless I would say that this is a good return. A few of those players may well end up signing for the reserves for next year, again using the (apparently) non existent pathway to progress. So I would question why the club should take on extra cost when the outcome will be the same. The set up was/is working fine, the current manager wants to progress his career as is his right (I agree wholeheartedly with him in that) but that doesn’t have to mean that another U19 or similar side won’t have a similar relationship next season, it seems like an attractive thing for any coach to tell players he’s trying to attract that he has a relationship with Albion Rovers, stating the stats above and saying that could be you next year... that would appeal to a lot of players. Those are the only 2 areas I have discussed really. I did mention a couple of times about building small sided parks on the waste ground behind each goal, which could bring in additional finance to the club. Now I will admit this idea could well be pie in the sky, I haven't surveyed the land or done any maths on how viable the plan is, but I have put forward an idea.

Your first line says it all really...everyone needs to pull together, NO ONE should be shut out, even if it means working with someone you don`t particularly like. The common good and all that.....
A good thoughtful post and a welcome contribution - as most of what you post is.

Thank you Grant, I agree with you, but would add a clarification to that though, the people who are looking to get in should be doing so for the sake of the club and be willing to work together as well. Not over throw but combining the skills and contacts, THAT is the best way forward.

.....and that is exactly what I proposed way back last September...a coming together.... ARFC is a shareholder owned company, no individual(s) can `overthrow` the board. Board changes can only be made with the approval of the shareholders.

Three pages on the wonders of a team relegated last week. Am I missing something here? A Berwick supporter has just posted this on P & B
"And that Stenny chairman statement is brilliant. Man Utd and Newcastle could learn a lesson on how to engage from it, never mind Berwick."
My point exactly......why can`t Vers Chairman engage with supporters on a similar basis?
