Wish we could go back to the days when English clubs did a pre-season `tour` of Scotland....anyone else remember Bradford City playing at Cliftonhill ?

I do vaguely remember Bradford City playing in Coatbridge in the late 70’s.
I see Rovers have confirmed we’re away to East Fife on Tuesday 25th June with a 7.45 k-o.
They’ve also confirmed the line up is as follows:
Alloa Athletic vs Albion Rovers,
29 June, 3pm, Indodrill Stadium, Alloa.
Airdrieonians vs Albion Rovers
2 July, 7.45pm, Penny Cars Stadium, Airdrie.
Albion Rovers vs Hamilton Academical
6 July, 2pm, The Reigart Stadium, Coatbridge.

In the Bradford City match I think it was Dunky Shields who hit a penalty almost to the corner flag, if you can imaging such a disastrous attempt.

Was there - I think we lost 3-1 but up against a Bradford team with ex Leeds players Paul Reaney and John McNiven on show and a host of experienced English 3rd Division guys. I also remember Plymouth coming to Coatbridge and when I was a toddler York City in 1967. I am sure in Robin Marwick,s book he talks about Snumptyhorpe with Ray Clemence in goals. I am sure if we exercise the little grey cells we could list a whole lot of famous faces who have run the Cliftonhill turf over the last 100 years.

Must be the spelling that does not allow that English team to be mentioned - you know who they are from Humberside
