New goal posts being installed today replacing the substantial metal ones that have been there for years. It would be good to know how long they have been there for?
It is part of the ongoing gradual improvements to the stadium, in addition to work done to improve the drainage of the pitch.

My guess is Ronnie that the posts being replaced have been there circa 1994-95.I think all Scottish teams changed there posts after the infamous Partick Thistle /Les Mortram goal /no goal shambles
Before that they used to be the old fashioned square metal posts with the red coloured stanchions. I always assumed they had been there since Cliftonhill was built. The post that Jason Bell (then ballboy) kissed as Rovers went on to win the 2nd Div championship 1989

Might be a totally daft suggestion, but its there a way to cut/ chop these up and sell them off ? I'm sure a few people would love a part as a memento of the Play-Off wins , Championship win , 7-2 etc ?
As i say might be more hassle than its worth and can maybe just get more from scrap.

As long as I don't get the bit Jason Bell kissed!
Great idea. Bit of imagination goes a long way.
St Pats on Main Street replaced their roof tiles, the old ones were taken down, you could buy them for a small fee, think it went to refurbishment costs, with an In Memoriam message for a relative/former parishioner. Don't think they expected to be too busy but sold loads.

A guy in Carinhill still has a set of goals from the old broomfield, complete with a sagging crossbar from when the airdrie fans done a tartan army wembley style pitch invasion after last match there. Id love to plant the rovers goals in front garden,if only to annoy the neighbours
