Followers of Rovers might be interested to know that the first match played by Albion Rovers Cricket Club took place last Thursday at Newfield, Edinburgh. The result was a thumping victory (by 3 wickets) for Albion Rovers versus Inchcolm Cricket Club.
Inchcolm 69 all-out
Albion Rovers 70 for 7
The match included a sensational bowling performance from former Rovers' supporters team coach and manager, Alan Hendrie, who took two wickets for 4 runs with his wicked spinners.
The next match is at Drumpellier on Sunday, 24th of July versus the same opposition. If anyone would like to play, do please contact me on this forum.

David great to see us mirroring the great Barca, in being a sports club that goes well beyond football. The founding articles of association states that we are "a sports and football club' and I think cricket is mentioned as one of the sports So well done in reviving the founding principles of our brilliant club .
