Great performances from the young lads in the reserves- credit to all concerned in the way they have gone about their business this year - hope this rubs off on the first team soon and we have 100% satisfaction all round !

I echo the comments above. The reserves are doing really well just now and the games are of a decent standard and are usually competitive. I'm sure the team and the coaches would appreciate your support at the home games on Monday evenings.

I really believe that we should be looking at the reserves to try and get some of them playing in the first team. Things can’t get any worse. What players do you think could cut it way the first team from the reserves?

Rather coincidentally Rovers take on Airdrie reserves tomorrow (Monday 21st) in the Reserve Challenge Cup at Cliftonhill with a 7.45 k-o. I expect the pie shop shall be open as per usual.
Free entry as always for these matches.

Rovers won this cup game 2-1 with Lewis Wilson getting the first and later on being subbed after what looked liked a pulled muscle or maybe hamstring. We were 2-0 up for a while and looked good throughout.
This puts Rovers 2nd in the table behind Ayr United.

I would play that entire reserve team against Fort William in the replay.

Match report from last night...
A comprehensive victory over a full time Airdrie side with goals from Lewis Wilson, from a corner, and Declan McDonald securing the Challenge Cup points. The Back 4 was solid throughout to the extent that Chris Smith had virtually nothing to do – with Mark Doran fitting in effectively for the injured Wilson later on. Jack Gordon, who brought out two outstanding saves from the visiting goalkeeper with long range efforts, Paul Fee who gave his best display of the season so far and Jordan Stewart completed a midfield which dominated their local rivals, showing aggression defensively and excellent passing and creativity throughout. Up front McDonald was a constant threat and he benefitted from the introduction of new signing Kieran Dolan in the second half.
Team: C. Smith; Moran, McLelland, Wilson (Doran), Guy (M. Smith), Gordon, Stewart, Fee; Doherty (Fell), McDonald, Scally (Dolan).

Is four subs the norm in the reserves? Yes, each team is allowed 5 subs (I believe) but only 3 stoppages not including half time.
