It was stated at the AGM that the shawbrook loans were based upon interest of 30% +. Anyway, the club is where it is now , funny how all the directors of that time (except one) did a runner when things got tough. Quite why you need to bring all this up now, when it`s all history, yes we basked in the glory of the championship, little we know at that time the price the club would pay in the future, when its very existence was put on the line.

What directors ran away start naming names and not putting up links to companies house. Your usually pretty quick with a bit of breaking news, so man up and go for it

Sorry Bucky I’m a bit new to this type of thing more than a Darren fan I’m a friend of his and a most of the directors at the time, I explained to grant and jimbo that I think it poor the way Darren is protrayed as he and the directors who stayed that title winning season constantly get muck thrown at them. Did any of you guys not realise the fire service service were closing the stadium because it hadn’t been fireproofed and told the club previously if it wasn’t ready for the season the title was won it was being shut down!!! NLC at the same time refused a safety certificate and the league were ready to throw the book at the club because of this Bucky. Any idea how this was resolved or how it was paid for? Yes, I heard of that issues with the certificates John, contractors vans and the likes outside the stadium the day before the first home game......was told off for scaremongering.....
In my opinion, it is only a matter of time before something similar happens - despite the best efforts of all involved.

One Director paid for the fire proofing as far as I know. Would it not have been better to have money set aside in the budget for repairs rather than vast overspending on wages? The club played Rangers 3 times in cup competions and Celtic in the cup in Darren’s last season. The money from the Celtic game merely bought the club some time as Administrators were wiping their feet on the Cliftonhill welcome mat. Surely something is missing when you get a windfall like that but the club is in financial dire straights. The Shawbrooke loan was the icing on the cake. Anyway as you are a close personal friend of ex manager and ex directors ( an ex is an ex for a reason btw) this debate will go round in circles. You are entitled to your opinion as am I. All the best John.

Your usually pretty quick with a bit of breaking news, so man up and go for it John, I really don`t know where this is leading and what you hope to achieve by trawling up the past, those of us who follow Rovers week in - week out (me from quite a distance for over 50 years) know what went on in the past - I am also a shareholder as well - attended the last AGM on Jan 31st 2019 - and heard what the chairman and his co-directors had to say. There was also the notes additional to the accounts sent out to shareholders before the AGM. Are you saying I am niave to believe them?. I may disagree with some things they do, but they are honest people doing their best in difficult circumstances.

One director paid for it because there was no money left due to the bank taking all the Rangers money from 2 games. Bit of free advice Bucky get your facts right and stop spreading nonsense on this forum about good people you don’t know. The reason there ex is why Bucky?? Maybe got fed up spending there own money sorting all your problems at the rovers. Ps ciaran Donnelly refused a new contract from Darren and bad mouthed you in a paper in east kilbride

Who are you to criticise me? Sitting on your arse in South Yorkshire, I never seen you at Fort William today. I never left Albion Rovers and if I did what’s it got to do you? You have more faces than the town clock, one minute the board is the best thing and the next you are trying to usher your new pals in and slating the board - you turned up for the AGM and said nothing. If you have an issue with me I am back in Doncaster on Monday and more than happy to meet up.

Check your own facts! I’ll ask you second time do you think a manager on £500 a week and an assistant on £300 a week sustainable for club like Albion Rovers?

Wrong bucky they got 300k fact, stop pulling figures out the air as per usaul. The manager won the league the second time in your history. And you complain about him getting £200 wages gus was on £750 at queens park at the time, barry ferguson at clyde was looked after that year. Have a think bucky at what your saying, would it have Been better im paul Martin would have done it for you. That season.darren done it with wards And devlins signings. I remember John smith thanking ronnie the day he Put the flag up the pole as a fantastic day for him And the town he didnt say that Man young is nót worth it

If only we had the finances to sustain our run in Division 1 we could have been in the position East Fife are at present- but we have had to cut our cloth accordingly and we are where we are today. East Fife may find themselves in a similar position depending on how their finances are run. One thing for sure unless you are full time with a healthy support and strong financial backing then progress up the leagues is extremely difficult if not impossible.
