Have announced they will end 152 years of history and tradition of being an amateur club and start to offer players a professional contract
Does their club motto now need changed
Ludere Causa Ludendi
To play for the sake of playing

It doesnβt help Rovers attract players in the future but it was inevitable!

Although I love to hate them...think it is a bit sad that another quirk of Scottish football gone.
That said, I wonder who their first big marquee signinng will be? Just blow the Hampden money in a oner π°

Is it right that Willie Haughey is footing their wage bill for next season?.

Was it not always the case that whilst they never paid their players a wage the players 'travelling expenses' where very generous ?
I hope they don't give up on their home knitted scarves next. That would be the end for me.

Is it right that Willie Haughey is footing their wage bill for next season?. The 2018 edition of the Sunday Times Rich List estimated his family's fortune at Β£265 million.

Must say I was surprised it wasn't a tad more capacious (1774 is the exact figure quoted) as their going from the 3rd largest capacity stadium to the 2nd smallest although that amount is of course much more than they need on an average Saturday.

When finished they'll probably change the name from lesser hampden to smugger hampden! Or possibly mugger hampden due to the price of the pies!

Got fond memories of the old Hampden Park - saw my first away match there at a QP V Rovers Scottish Cup tie in the 1960s - 0-0 think we won the replay. If QP re-develop Lesser Hampden as seen in their plans should be a good venue with maybe a bit of atmosphere rather than 500 or so in a stadium designed for 100 times that number.
