First half was great, two cracking goals. Inch perfect through ball which Byrne buried behind the keeper then Ossy rounded the defender then beat the keeper with a classy finish. Keeper probably thought he was going to cut it back but it was a great goal. Completely in command at half time with the ref looking a wee bit like he was a Rovers fan, noticing all the wee cheeky QP fouls and awarding free kicks to the good guys.
F*ck knows what happened at HT. We didn't start playing again until it was 2-2! Terrible defending for the QP first goal although to be fair it was well worked. The pace of the winger and then a good cross evading everyone in red. As for the second well I thought it was a penalty, albeit a soft one. Winger rounded Lynas and then he kind of leaned on him. Probably not quite enough for the winger to go down but that's modern football for you and it was 2-2.
Our penalty looked like a stone waller and the QP keeper made a good save. We were right back in it at that point despite going down to 10 men. Lynas standing on the water bottle when he went off was priceless. If wee Gus had still been the QP manager those water bottles would have been kicked to f*ck all over the place an hour before Lynas got to them! The ref had lost the plot by this stage and the sending off was a joke, along with numerous free kicks he gave to QP.
Cracking save at 1-0 from Goodfellow when he somehow turned a QP effort over the bar - save right out of the top drawer. Balanced by his kamikaze clearance in the second half when under no real pressure he skied a clearance which Wharton did well to head back to him.
2-2 probably fair given the overall performance from both teams. Results around us went our way so no disaster and I'd have happily have taken a draw before a ball was kicked today. February will be a busy month with postponed games so hopefully we can push on from here and put a bit of daylight between ourselves and Brechin and Stenny.
