Rubbish performance in a nothing game played in crap conditions. Thought stenny just looked the wee bit more organised than us today and deserved their 1-0. Highlight of the day was the homemade soup,up there with EK and very welcome it was too. Onwards and hopefully upwards.

Stenhousemuir adapted to the conditions better today - they relied on the long through ball which had us in all sorts of bother in the first half. We had a couple of efforts from a long range effort tipped over the bar and a Graham header that the keeper did well to block. In the second half Stenny resorted to an even longer ball through the middle as the wind always seemed to come to our rescue by arrving harmlessly at Goodfellow or over the bye line !. We were much better in the second period but their keeper was solid today and the damage , I felt , had already been inflicted in the first half. All in all the weather was the true nner as both teams struggled , but Stenny gained the points through being a bit more creative - but not brilliant. A day best forgotten - although personally I won £60 on the fixed odds coupen thanks to Stirling , Queens Park , Airdrie and Montrose !

Reasonable and fair summary from Peter. The conditions didn't have an impact on the result. Stenny header from a corner came off the cross bar and looked to have crossed the line but the goal wasn't given - after just a few minutes play too! I was directly behind the goal and couldn't tell, so the ref had no chance. That was after Clarke had needlessly given away a free kick which put us under pressure which led to the corner. Clarke tbf had an absolute stinker and looked completely out of his depth the whole match. Harsh maybe but fair certainly. Then Will bundled over one of their strikers too and it did look a penalty - we'd have been shouting for it for sure at the other end - but it wasn't given. Goody kept us in it too with a few decent saves. Goody actually makes the defence look good! They'd concede more than a few more goals if he wasn't there to bail them out. So it could have been 3-0 at half time. Can't really remember Rovers having a chance in the first half. Second half we were better but never really looked like threatening Stenny. Scally had a few decent runs and a shot-come-cross from the edge of the box narrowly evaded See at the back post which could have made it 1-1. Overall though Stenny were deserved winners. We weren't that far off them maybe but we didn't deserve anything from this game. My main criticism is that it took so long to make any subs when clearly we needed to try something else much sooner. on this sort of form we'll finish below Stenny. Massive wake up call for those who last week were talking about the play offs. That is way wide of the mark. We are mediocre at best in amongst a number of bang average sides. Brechin last week were as poor as we'll see and unfit to boot. Looking back, as good as we were at 4-1 maybe we were flattered by an utter sh1t Brechin side. Again maybe a tad harsh but more than likely a fair summary. If you're up for a bet then put money on us finishing 9th. No disgrace in that given the apparent budgets of the teams in this league. Man of the match? Probably Goody, with honourable mentions to Will and maybe Scally. For the rest it was a day best forgotten. Most of this is spot on. Looked like we could have played til Tuesday and not scored. A few things though. Scott Roberts had a powerful drive that was moving all over the place well saved by Smith We also had a penalty waved away when Dec was bundled over in the first half. Jason has a decent header saved by Smith Will Graham had a powerful header very well saved by today’s MOTM the Stenny keeper Graeme Smith. As it turned out 1 goal was enough although it looked to be a few yards offside then when Goody came out to block No10 the goal scorer looked to be beyond him and therefore offside as well. Did we deserve to win the game? Absolutely not. Did they? Again I’d have to say no. Onwards to Annan next week.

Wish I had gone behind the goal - Stenny fans were grim!

I think today could have gone either way in conditions which didn't really allow football to be played. Stenny got the one break (looked offside but little or no protest from our guys) which made the difference and both lots kept plugging away. The result could have significance at the end of the campaign but it's hard to fault anyone on a day like today.
As for the racket in the stand, it was weans being weans, they made a lot of noise but never represented any threat to anyone. My highlight of the day was when the steward walked away with the huge flag he had confiscated from them and they broke into a spontaneous chant of "You can stick your walkie-talkies up your arse".

Well, well - see what happens when The Prof doesn't run the coach or attend the match!!
Sounds like it was a fair result.
Awful weather for it though - nice and dry in The Doghouse in the Merchant City this afternoon and the Brewdog beers went down well!!!!

Weans were fine. Not so sure. Waens spat on people and threw bottles at spectators leaving the ground. Led to a bit of aggro with some wee rovers supporters while stewards at gate stood by and watched.

Yeah I'm with you LWH, the weans didn't look like they were going to kill anyone but who wants to go and see a fitba match and be faced with a group of wee neds giving you the vicky and making w@nker gestures? Even in the less posh (!) areas of Stenhousemuir that's not acceptable.
It's banter up to a point but there are plenty well-behaved young fans at the games looking at that sort of behaviour going unpunished and they must be wondering why. Keep the flags and the drums and the unintelligible grunting chants but there should be much better stewarding around the rest.

Didn't see that but given the example the half wits near me were setting not really surprised.

Must admit that I didn't see the "weans" spitting or throwing bottles at folk as i was too determined to walk back in a hurry to the train station as the weather was garbage. It also stated on the BBC website that the crowd was 756 yesterday, absolute nonsense as it looked as if there were half that number at the game at a push.

Same figure shown on The Sunday Post summary. Much higher than most of the others in the 2 lower divisions.

Stand holds about 620 and looked pretty full. Add in our reprebates behind the goals (a good turnout) and seems about right.

Just watched the highlights and managed to grab 2 screenshots showing that Hopkirk was MILES offside... can’t seem to find a way to post them on here though.
