We were mince and Brechin weren't much better. Only one way to go - UPWARDS!! Sure we'll thrash Hamilton Under 20's on Tuesday night??? Not the best of performances today. Wish I could share your optimism Prof. Nothing more to say really. Next week wont be easy either .....Peterhead will want to get off the mark this season!

Brechin though were certainly better than us. They were organised and positive going forward. They got a break with the penalty but controlled the game after that.

What was disappointing was the lack of creativity when we fell behind. We had no ideas to unlock a compact defence and Brechin were full of positive running when on the attack , especially in the second half. We need an Ally Love type forward , who acts as an old fashioned style winger. The defence seemed a bit indecisive at times today - especially our reliable back 4 who were often poor with passing or caught in a pincer movement with a couple of Brechin players. A final note on the crowd - I was sitting speaking to a Brechin supporter at the time and the announcement of 228 mystified us as it looked a bit more - but nothing brilliant. The corresponding fixture at this stage last year had 470 - so there is a missing 250 that is worrying at this stage of the season. Never mind being the optimist, I think we need to put this one down to a welcome reminder as to the hard graft we need to show in order to succeed in this difficult league this season - we can do it !!

We don't have a plan b. Yesterday we just resorted to pushing our defenders forward in the last 10 minutes or so. What that meant was we nearly got caught out at the back a couple of times. But there was no system or obvious plan to what we were doing.
And we seemed to be labouring a bit towards the end. The people handing out the free energy drinks at the end of the game should have been in the home dressing room at half time.
