Some good points Paul. Presumably the new Commercial bod is on the case, should be part of his remit. Yes some very good points Paul. I've only been supporting Albion Rovers for a few months and I must admit I did get the impression that the fan levels and social media presence did sort of reflect each other in being a little half arsed.

Got to agree it is half arsed. Last nights video of the team being read out was terrible, absolutely boring and I switched it off after the 2nd name. I am not sure who's idea it was but surely we have creative folk within the club who can come up with something better than that. Image is massive for a football club and if any newbies who were taking an interest in the club watched that, it would not have got them raring to go watch our team play.
Other than the Ciaran Donnelly testimonial game and league trophy day, I can only think of one other time where our social media pages have made a big push to promote our games. The last advert I can remember for the team was a game against Montrose which was a Pay what you can afford on the gate game. Im sure someone will correct me if i am wrong....

Video of the team being read out...that went over my head?? Must admit more needs to been done re advertising the club. Also the match day video at some clubs is very good, over recent years it has become quite professional. Peterhead, stranraer and East fife spring to mind, not only good coverage but a wee bit commentary. I'm sure some clubs have contacted local colleges...media students are keen to get experience to put on CV. All goes to promote image of Club.

A group of us fans are trying our best folks. We setup a facebook page to encourage folk into the games. Myself and others took the 4 hour journey up to Peterhead and travel on a regular basis to away games and some take train journeys. It's difficult trying to convince folk to go .. many reasons and the feedback i'm getting is the gate prices. Hard going guys but we are trying our best. We also spoke to Terry Gillooly at Peterhead and suggested distributing leaflets out around the community. He has took this on board! www.facebook.com/Jack-Taylors-Rovers-Supporters-Club-1024172634295596

Having watched the highlights, the Stranraer player got his head to the free kick at the first goal. So to be fair to Ross in goals he pulled off a decent save as he didn't have much time to react. The marking left a bit to be desired right enough so for the defenders to have a go at the keeper just looks like classic deflection tactics - "it wisnae me"!
Ditto the marking at the second goal - not good enough. A decent goal right enough, well timed run from midfield beating what passes for our offside trap with ease. Good cutback, our guys ball watching and a good finish too.
Stranraer are definitely on a good run. You just wonder what might have been if we'd played them in the original match when we were in much better shape both personnel and performance-wise.
