I think the fact the pitch inspection is so early when Bonnyrigg is an hour along the road is almost a guarantee the game is off [br Good wan mate

Dirty, cheating team! Poor ref - should have got a hold of them - useless.

Didn't deserve to lose.
Can't remember them having a half decent chance.
Rovers need to be more clinical.

To win that today was about being more cynical rather than clinical. Ref lost us that!

That’s the most cynical team I’ve seen up at Cliftonhill for years. Kicked everything above the grass , got their noses in front then stifled the game. Fair play to them the Ref let them away with murder. We played well and deserved more but…we mucked up for their goal , clearance went askew which should have been put out of play to regroup instead played it back in then smart does what he was always good at - give the Ref a decision (which was the wrong one). Just didn’t do enough with the final ball or shot even though we played well.

Points from today in no special order
1. Didn't look like a penalty 2. Bonnyrigg are a million miles from a good team and it kills me they stayed up ahead of us 3. The shout of scumbags sums up bonnyrigg
However
4. We could have played all night and never scored 5. Looked fairly obvious to most in the crowd a sub needed to be made yet the manager waited till nearly bedtime 6. Niyah Joseph I thought would have been a great player, but annoys me more every time I watch him. Keep it simple and acknowledge your a lowland league player and you'll do much much better. The amount of failed playstation flicks is beyond a joke 7. Defence and keeper look decent 8. Until we can learn to stick the ball away we are going to go from bad to worse 9. Fair play to everyone for work rate today though 👏

A good summing up and a pisser that our season is essentially over. Left right at the final whistle. Heard it kicked off big time on the pitch and outside the ground. Hope everyone got home ok.

Arfcdm - Bright Prince came on after 70 minutes. I thought the team were playing really well and didn't see the need for a change before that. Credit to Bonnyrigg, they didn't do much but they knew the threat was Bevan and Joseph and didn't give either much room. Played very well but no cutting edge and corners just seem to be whack it in and hope for the best.
Arne seems convinced Smart cheated, a pillar obscured my view! Quite the rammy at the end, a shame as I enjoyed watching Smart when Rovers had their great escape.
Good crowd, no figure up yet on BBC but looked slightly more than the 511 against St Andrews.

Bags of effort, solid looking defence, Rose never looked like scoring, neither did we right enough.
Let's go into Tuesday night match with the same approach.

The weather forecast over the next few days might throw Tuesday nights game in doubt but who knows. Time to get the retractable roof working again.

Asked for a step up in performance from last week and we got it. Overall best team on the day possession wise. However apart from the very soft, a gold medal dive from Smart, penalty I reckon we could well still be standing watching both teams trying to score.
Attacking wise Joe did make a difference from last week.. for the first 15 minutes then Bonnyrigg kicked, double teamed him out the game and then our threat went out the window.
Once again defensively sound, Alex McCaw really good out of position at LB, a deserved MOTM for Dom McMahon who is, already, in my thoughts for POTY…. then again I did vote for Blair Malcolm last time round….. oops, that went well . It’s ok slagging the likes of the Rose off for being overly physical but that’s what got them and Spartans up a level. As much as I like fancy football sometimes you’ve got to go with the flow especially if fancy footie is going to be blootered all over the park.

Quite the rammy at the end, a shame as I enjoyed watching Smart when Rovers had their great escape. Good crowd, no figure up yet on BBC but looked slightly more than the 511 against St Andrews. Sorry I don't agree, football is all about opinions, when I go to see Rovers I don't just watch the team, I watch individual performances from our players as well. I watched Niyah closely throughout the game as he was our only striker and main hope of a goal. The whole team wasn't playing well when Bright came, they all were playing well apart from Niyah, he has been poor for for weeks but Sandy never drops him no matter what, He is Sandy's favourite. Niyah was well off the pace compared to his teammates, who were all up for the game and were superb all over the park but their good work was undone by a incompetent referee who must have lumped a tidy sum on them at the bookies. He gave a penalty after Smart dived and conned him in the box . It was a blatant dive. It was poor management from Sandy starting Niyah up front on his own. His first touch was awful today and almost all our attacks broke down when the ball fell to his feet. In fairness to him he had 3 men on him every time he went for ball as did Joe(who was playing with an injury) and Bonnyrigg clearly did their homework. The majority of Niyah's goals have came against teams in the challenge cup games against amateur teams and he has only has scored 4 in 13 in the league - hardly prolific. He showed his quality with a great header against Killie but his form has declined so he needs a rest and it might do him the world of good. Tyler Denholm hasn't been giving a chance since scoring the winner against West park United and I would like to see him getting a chance with Bright in a 4-4-2 on Tuesday against Broomhill. Sandy needs to be more ruthless as a manager and i'm not the only one saying this. Plenty were on the left side of the stadium today. If we don't pick up results soon, a few weeks down the line he could be under pressure Plus points today, I thought Stephen Oneill played better than he did against Caledonian Braves and showed Nice touches. Looking forward to seeing more of him. Mcmahon was excellent as well and plays better when Calum Wilson is in the team beside him. The midfield were great today. Kasa was immense in Defence and he was rightly angry, as he got rough treatment from their strikers and was kicked out at in an off the ball incident. Our BOD need to start reporting some of these ref's that we are getting to the SFA, as some of them seem to have an agenda against us. I am gutted we are out the cup as many of you will be. They were there for the taking today but I can't fault the players for effort. We didn't deserve to lose it but when you don't take your chances that's what happens. It's a certainty they will get a great draw in next round. One last point when Sandy took over last season from Brian Reid he said we needed to improve our home form as it was unacceptable last season. I am sorry but it has been the same under him. How many games have we lost at home this season? We drastically need 6 points with 2 home games coming up but I can't see were the goals are going to come from and i'm predicting a draw against Broomhill and a defeat against Linlithgow. I will be attending both hoping for the best and I really hope I am wrong with my predictions.
