We can argue about last seasons players all night however giving Sandy a new contract is absolutely mental, no justification for it whatsoever IMO. No other clubs were going to be stealing him away and thinking him or this group of players will be getting us promoted within the next decade are living in Dreamland.

They deserted in the play off. The simple fact is we are crap. We were crap last season and have been crap since the Brogan era. We have no money, no hope, the season is over and next season will be worse with even less money. Treading water til the inevitable.

Within a few years I think Albion rovers will be relegated again, the clubs that are around the top of the east and west of scotland premier leagues are very strong and the teams finishing bottom of the lowland will really struggle in a play off

I don't doubt it's not through lack of effort but it's hard to look at their tenure objectively and consider it as anything other than an unmitigated disaster. They were brought in to keep us up and failed. The awfulness of that second leg performance in the play off will live long in the memory. Look, I didn't expect us to come straight back up but I certainly didn't expect us to be scrapping around at the foot of the table either. I was actually quite excited when Sandy got appointed as I remember him as a player but as a pal pointed out at the time, surely if he was any good as a manager he wouldn't be at East Stirling. It just hasn't worked and no one can see anything to suggest it will other than the board I guess. To me, everything about the team at the moment is screaming complete reset and fresh approach, so decision to commit to another 18 months of this is kind of beyond me. Why now? I just don't get it.

The tragedy is that the team looked good in the early stages of the season: a real bunch of battlers, and we gave Tranent and Bo'ness defeats in two tough matches. But the boys look bereft and defeated on the pitch at the moment. A real shame, as there is some talent there; but something ain't working, that's for sure.
