The final straw for me has been the Thread on Preparing for Division 2 A good deal of people including myself spend a great deal of time working for the club in many ways . We are very proud of what we have achieved . At times this can be frustrating , but hey anything that is worthwhile Iin life is never easy Yet as ever , we get people who constantly criticise , having no knowledge of the reality of the hard work that was required to get us into Division 1 and to stay there . I have given the advice to ignore this nonsense to so many good people who work hard to make us so successful . I am now taking heed of my own advice

So what you are saying is that only those who agree with your point of view should be allowed to post. This is a DISCUSSION board and should carry all views and shades of opinion. On previous boards to this one I often had to take `hits` (Prof will remember that well) - but did I spit the dummy out - no - I respected the opinions of others, which is something you should do. However, you have made your choice and I wish you well in all that you do for ARFC

If that's the case those who express their opinion by being negative won't mind if those of us who disagree with them express the contrary view. We are in the best position the club has seen probably since the 1930s. What do folk want, a return to the Fagan era? In my 40 years of supporting Rovers this is the best it has been. The idea that the club is deliberately aiming for relegation is just insulting.

I think i know Deerboy from seeing him at games and some of the charity work he does for the club is incredible in my opinion and he asks for nothing back in return, can many us say we put into the club what he does. I would imagine you cant rovergrant by your own admission you dont even attend matches, yet you accuse deerboy of spitting the dummy i dont think you have earned the right to give such comment. Rovergrant you talk a lot but say nothing. Deerboy its says it all when a real rovers man decides hes had enough of some off the ignorance thats spouted by the odd ill informed members on this forum.

Macrover, I regret that you have personalised this issue. All I pointed out to deerboy was that this DISCUSSION board is open to all, to all shades of opinion, to say that you have had enough of the board because you disagree with what some people post, I believe is wrong. Little wonder previous message boards became known as Pravda, as criticism - generally constructive - was shouted down, indeed those who posted in what could be construed by some as negative, were, frankly, subject to abuse. I don`t propose to explain in detail to you my Rovers background, those who know me are aware of that, what work I did when I lived in Coatbridge, particularly in the 1970s as unpaid commercial manager. To attend matches for me now would entail a 600 mile round trip, a journey I am not prepared to undertake regularly for family, economic and the risk of games being of. Please respect other folks opinions, disagree with them by all means and put up a counter argument, but do not personalise it as you have done with your posting against me. I have sent you a PM with my e mail addres and phone number if you wish to discuss this further in a gentlemanly fashion.

Rovergrant you personalised the matter when you accused Deerboy of spitting the dummy. I have no interest in your past of what you have and haven't done for the Rovers. What does catch my attention is your constant negativity towards anything going on at the club. You week last questioned the new players the manager brought in, you probably had never heard of either of them. Yet you tell all and sundry they don't fill you with confidence, prolific negativity.

In my opinion, Grant is an easy target to have a dig at as he is probably the most vocal on here. Just because he cant get to the games as much as he probably wants to doesnt make him any less of a Rovers fan. I have not agreed with all of his views on all things rovers but like the happy clappers on here, he is allowed his opinion (like it or not).

Paulrovers im sure rovergrant can fight his on battles, my only gripe with the him and a few like him is the constant negativity. I followed a team for a long number of years who didnt give 2 bob for the fans. What i have found at the Rovers is the people behind the scences will sit down and talk to the fans, as week last week showed at the trust meeting.

Oh dear, is this a battle? Its football, you arent going to get everyone to agree on everything. Debates, difference of opinions are healthy. Whether you want to accept that or not is your issue.

Macrover, your arrogance and attitude towards others who don't share your views is quite remarkable.A democracy, free speech and forum is what this board is for, and for all views (right or wrong)-to be noted.Rovers fans come from all area and backgrounds - don't define someone you don't know anything about.

Folks it takes allsorts to make a discussion board. Optimists, pessimists and all ratios in between. I feel I understand both sides to a certain degree. Deerboy for his passion and frustration at the negativity and rover grant for his insistance at being able to think out loud. I don't think he's been personally disrespectful to anyone so I would tell him u disagree but don't leave the board. You are important to it.

I can sympathise with deerboy here- he's tried to explain things on other threads but his points seem to have been by and large ignored by some.
I tend to find that the folk who are pretty negative are the ones who stiffle the debate more as they do seem to respond quite aggressively when others offer a different point of view or opinion - usually along the lines of this is a discussion board etc etc. We can say what we want. Exactly - and folk are simply offering a different point of view to you. It's quiet reasonable for folk to disagree with all the negativety surely? And most have done so explaining all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes. If more contributed their time I think they would be more sympathetic and understanding of all things going on at the club.
And the thread with the Div 2 title - it was pretty insulting to many at the club I thought given everything that is going on on numerous fronts. - just my opinion.

I have opinions the same as the rest of you, if you don't like them tough.
