I have e-mailed the league on that very subject: awaiting their reply. Perhaps the 'Advertiser' will investigate?

Nanook`s posting above totaly sums up the current situation. Frank Meade (according to Dumbarton`s website) is a Director and CEO of Dumbarton FC- I have also checked this morning with Companies House and he is registered as a Director of DFC with them - I did this just in case DFC website has not been updated. It simply cannot be right that a Director of one SPFL club votes on issues at another SPFL club in whom he holds shares. Similarly, Anton Fagan although not a Director of the SPFL (checked that out as well) is a senior manager with that body. Might be better for all concerned if Meade and Fagan stayed away tonight......although they could of course exercise their rights to appoint a proxy to vote on their behalf, but again, it would lead back to them and changes nothing. As for George Peat, I am at a loss to know what a 78 year old could bring to ARFC - can`t see him him sweeping up, laying ground covers etc. Anyway good luck to Ronnie Boyd tonight, he could without any of this hassle given all the other inherited problems he has had to deal with.

Its always disappointing to read stories/rumours like this and I always wonder at how these others are going to make life so much easier up Cliftonhill way. I'm just a supporter, have been since as far back as I can remember, my father and grandfather as well, we have never had shares, never been offered any just like many other real supporters of the club. Maybe if these other 'major' shareholders really appreciated what the club means to us then perhaps we could all get the opportunity to have a proper say in what happens up the 'hill.
One can only hope

I'm hoping that tonights meeting will be the proverbial damp squib and Ronnie can get back to running a football club. If anyone is planning otherwise they better have a good explanation, attainable ambitious plans and hopefully some cash too.
As for someone getting cash should Rovers go bust (fingers crossed that Hartlepool last the month), after debts are cleared and administrator/liquidators grab their humongous fees there'd be virtually or absolutely nothing left.
It's clear and has been for quite a number of years that Rovers are unlikely ever to move on unless the share situation is sorted and frankly I can't see that happening anytime soon.

Aye, for years Tom Fagan held Rovers back....now his son and heir to the shareholding is doing the same thing...for blatantly selfish reasons.

For all the success we have had over the last few seasons, why do the Rovers always have to resemble a soap opera?

Meeting over. Not to say there was no truth in the rumours but It’s still chairman Ron until the end of the season when he steps down of his own volition. A very bold and forthright statement from Ronnie opened the meeting.

Quick update. Ronnie has decided to resign as chair but was re elected as a board member. Eddie and Ian also re elected to BOD. No take overs. No guns at dawn. Couple of interesting moments. Well done Eddie for chairing the meeting and thanks Ronnie for your chairmanship, which will end at the end of the season.

Totally outrageous that Ronnie feels he has to do that. Hope someone put Peat in his place-again. The whole thing has been totally un-necessary and damaging right in the middle of our third successive season in a higher division. So what is it, Peat and company: jealousy about that; or jealousy that we still exist, unlike 'Airdrieonians'? Shame on us for not moving in to that dump in Airdrie and getting promoted and staying up. Ronnie, I hope you change your mind: you have our total and full support.

Sure Ronnie will say for himself but it was nothing to do with the topic of this thread. He said he was always going to do 2 years and move on.

I was surprised with this thread as it seemed unsettling for the club. Like other non share holders we waited on feedback from the club AGM. We all know Ronnie has been working tirelessly in the best interests of Albion Rovers and the supporters in general. A popular and well respected person and the fact Ronnie will remain on the board is very good news. Lets hope all concerned continue to steer the club forward positively and with good stewardship, as we have seen over the last few years.
Albion Rovers are a special club blessed with a committed board, supporter's and with a few colourful characters thrown in. Long may that continue.
