If there was an Albion Rovers Hall of Fame for players, Managers, staff and Fans
Who would be the first 7 people you would induct?

Jim Brown , Davie Main , Willie Leishman , Alan Reid , Vic Kasule , John Brogan and Davie Provan ( although Tommy Gemmell for laying the foundations of 1989 champions would be worth a mention)

As we consider who should be inducted into the Rovers Hall of Fame, let’s not forget that Rovers have been in business since 1882. So we surely have to seriously consider the following candidates from ARFC’s dim and distant past:
- The entire 1919/20 squad who reached the Scottish Cup Final - Rovers captain Jock Stein, who went on to become a manager of some repute - Jock White, the only player in ARFC history to represent Scotland (v Wales) while still playing for Rovers - the celebrated wing partnership of Willie Findlay and Johnny McIlhatton, who went on to star for Rangers and Everton respectively. - Classy inside forward Tommy Kiernan, a Celtic regular for a couple of seasons just after WW2 - The magnificent Tony Green, whose career was cruelly cut short by injury but who is still fondly remembered by fans of Blackpool and Newcastle as an all-time great - John Brogan, a goalscorer of some distinction who went on to become the young Ally McCoist’s strike partner at St Johnstone - Jeff King, a classy midfielder who later starred for a number of notable English clubs ( including Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United) - Jim Brown, a fine goalkeeper who went on to play for Scotland.
Just saying, like.

Good idea Daniel.
Of the players I saw gracing the Cliftonhill pitch I would go for Tony Green, John Dillon. John Brogan, Robert Clark and Kevin McAllister. Our recent testimonial players Ciaran Donnelly and Alan Reid would have to be candidates. From an historical point of view Bill is right that we have to take the longer view and include those who reflect our long existence: Jock Stein and Jock White would be strong candidates. And if we are including non players then what about the army of Unsung Heroes who have kept the club going over the decades.

Mick Dunlop, Gary Fisher, Josh Mullin, John Gemmell, Alan Trouten, Darren Young and Tony McMinn are my picks. Please bear in mind this is my fourth season of going to ARFC so can only go with who I have seen on and off the pitch

Why restrict it to 7? Is that what other Halls of Fame do?
Think going back well into the distant past makes sense, having read Cliftonbill's explanation.
Not sure that Jock Stein should be included. He achieved great things after his time at Cliftonbill but not much as a Rovers player. Spoke to several older Rovers supporters, now all sadly gone, who did not rate him as a player and for the trouble he caused behind the scenes.

I think this would be an going process and 7 players would be named in the first year and others would follow in future.

Don't disagree with many names mentioned but would certainly add Ray Franchetti.
