So, absolutely flying blind on this, almost complete new Rovers squad, and how do you judge Stenhousemuir?
Will go for Alan Reid having a blinder but Rovers sneaking a 0-1 win.

Absolutely no idea how this will go...will Rovers come flying out of the traps and take the game to Stenny...or will the experience of the Stenny troops owverawe a Rovers team with possibly only one or two having any game time at this level.

A tough one to start for the new squad and given the experience in the Stenhousemuir ranks should swing it their way - may be a 3- 1 defeat

Looked like the new team did well first half, but terrible the second.

I wasn’t at the game so not going to try and comment it. Here is a stenny fans comments on game..
‘A stroll in the park. Nice confidence booster but Albion Rovers looked as bad as East Stirling in the dark days.’
Work cut out for the manager, but I’m sure he knows what he is doing....👀👀

First game of the season, the game over the years that usually sends you home excited about what’s to come or leaves you shaking your head. I’m actually not sure where that left me, first half was decent, the defence and keeper were tight and didn’t allow Stenny any clear cut chances and we did create a few shots at goal ourselves. Second half was head in hand stuff. Really disappointing and a complete reversal of the first half with Stenny looking as if they could score at will and us looking very toothless up front.
It was our first competitive game, their second so perhaps that’s why they were sharper in the second half. Just a shame we’ve got Ayr, Morton and Thistle still to come. Player wise I liked the look of our number 4, apologies for not knowing the name, he looked the best of the bunch.
Always like to be positive when it comes to the Rovers so let’s just say it’s work in progress

Early days. Solid first half without much goal threat. Second half poor and heads went down at 2 nil. Hope its not a season of aimless punts up the pitch though. Also, did anyone else think the keeper had been at the half price pies? :-)

Less said about half price pies the better. That was the first time I'd been to a ground and didn't have a pie. Thought team were great in 1st half but died a death in 2nd half. No. 10 looked ill in 2nd half. No. 3 and 4 were excellent and keeper was confident in 1st half but less said about 2nd half the better. On a plus point, great to see over 80 Rovers fans there at Stennie. Dreading Saturday though.
