Type of internet connection as opposed to wired Haha! Also, a wireless is one wire fewer than is required.

Sorry to have missed last week owing to family commitments. Looking forward to the atmosphere on Saturday: think we'll win it by the odd goal and look for help elsewhere.

I've only just stopped crying myself to sleep after Prof's harsh words last week about my lack of positivity. So taking no risks this week I'm going for a supremely uplifting victory for Darren's Dandies of at least 17-0. Love it d7 - You've redeemed yourself BIG time!!!

Well, Well - what a season it's been for the MIGHTY 'Vers.
Survival secured with two games to spare.
And, to cap it all, following last week's excellent victory over Forfar, we find ourselves in with a shout of the Championship Play-Offs!!
Whatever happens tomorrow, win, lose or draw, it's been a magnificent season for our club.
I'll go for a 1-0 victory to our amazing team tomorrow afternoon and who knows what that might lead to??

This one will be a close game, but going for a rovers win, and hope results go in our fever. To get 4th spot.

Prof - I hadn't realised I didn't finish my post. 17-0 at half time but I think we'll ease off in the second half before running out eventual 26-0 winners. Actually I think we'll sneak it 1-0 or 2-1. Obviously the more scores I put down, the better my chances of being correct!

We seem to be getting better as the season goes on. Another great win today, finishing the season with a flourish. Got 3 good goals from our makedo strikers. What let us down today, was results elsewhere. This team from back to front have dug in when necessary and played some good football along the way. Don't like to single out players for praise, but thought Ross Stewart, Scott McBride, Gary Fisher were standouts today. Well done all. Great season. Can we hang on to this group for next season the vultures will be circling!!!

Quite bizarre really that for the second year running we should finish with a game in sunny 'Larbert-shire' albeit against different opponents. Last year's end of season extravaganza performance resulted in the 5-1 demolition of a poor East Stirling. With so much at stake today it was always bound to be tighter than that.
Yellow strip today which was good. The red shorts have stripes down the sides so who decided the black shorts wouldn't? Anyhoo, we continued with the routine of our pre match huddle. As befits the final game of the season, today's topic of conversation turned to holidays. Kyle delivered a short lecture on the merits of a spray tan versus the good old sunbed. Seriously, his legs get more and more suntanned with every passing game. We had snow on Wednesday, hailstones on Thursday and I had to scrape the car this morning! He is seriously having a laugh and his secret is out now!
And so to the game itself. Cracking, bright day for football. Cold but crisp and from the stand you could see the snow on the Ochil Hills in the distance. It was a toss up really whether I penned this report or wrote some poetry.
Rovers kicked off and immediately went forward. We were well up for this game from the first whistle and dominated the early stages. However, the game was hardly 10 minutes old when news began to filter through that Airdrie were already two up! They didn't half get to play Dunfermline and Ayr at just the right time. So at that stage we had a bit of a mountain to climb, with everyone bar Prof wondering where the goals were going to come from. We put Stenny under a fair bit of pressure in the first 15-20 minutes and had umpteen chances. First up was Ally. Fish played a great ball into the box which saw McBride lay it off nicely for Ally. Ally took the ball in his stride and got a great shot away which the keeper did well to save.
The stand side linesman wasn't having the best of games. I'll confine my comments to say he wasn't the quickest, in fact he was as slow as a week in the jail. His running style was reminiscent of a young leg-brace wearing Forrest Gump. Between him and the referee they stopped one of the best Rovers moves right on the edge of the box. No playing the advantage here; no sir. Nevertheless, a well worked free kick straight from the training ground saw Fish fairly put his pink laces through the ball, bringing out a great save in the Stenny keeper.
We then won a few corners and from one of these the ball worked its way into McBride who unfortunately missed the target. Another cross ball evaded everyone and seemed to come too quickly to Ally and take him by surprise. The ball kind of hit him and bounced to safety. By that stage we could have been two or three in front and we would have been well worth the lead.
Towards the end of the half though, Stenny came back into it and nearly took the lead themselves. A decent ball in saw their striker get a shot away which ricocheted around our box a bit before another Stenny player looked like he'd score. Mick did well to stop the ball on the line - the ball bouncing safely into Ross's arms. Ross then had a great save at his right hand side, pushing the ball away for a corner. So honours even at half time. On the balance of play we were slightly unfortunate not to be in front but 0-0 was about right.
Slick passing routines and goalkeeper training at half time. Well done the guys. At the other end we had an endless stream of 5 year olds attempt to score past a very compliant goalkeeper whilst the enthusiastic stadium announcer counted down from 10-0. The kids sat next to me for most of the game and were very vocal. Don't know if anyone witnessed the steward who was keeping an eye on them? He looked about 15 maybe and had a hi-viz and a pair of cool shades on. His hi-viz was numbered 007 and he clearly fancied himself as a future James Bond!
The Stranraer game was still goalless at half time so there was still everything to play for. Into the second half and we took an early lead. The move started deep inside our own half with Ross Davidson controlling a wayward ball. He moved forward and released Reidy on the right hand side with a perfectly timed pass. Reidy strode forward and put in a great cross. Ally stole in in front of his marker and got a cracking glancing header away which beat the keeper all ends up. The ball hit the post and then time seemed to stand still as the ball came back into the 6 yard box. McBride reacted first and managed to poke the ball over the line from close range. So 1-0 to the Rovers and it was game on.
We were going forward at will now and it was only a matter of time before we scored again. And sure enough it was Ally who obliged. Another decent move down the right hand side saw a good ball into the box beat everyone and there was Ally at the back post to finish nicely. 2-0 and at that point we were well in the mix for 4th place. All we needed was Airdrie to concede and Stranraer to lose ....... and maybe a wizarding spell from Harry Potter!
To be fair to Stenny they didn't give up and for long periods of the second half they had us under a bit of pressure. Keeper Ross had a few fine saves - diving to his right and left and also stopping a few close range efforts very well. For our part, we looked good going forward and you did feel another goal was coming. And when it did it was created by the pink sparkly boots of Fish. From just inside the Stenny half, Fish played a great ball in right to the feet of McBride. McBride seemed to be in acres of space just inside the 18 yard box and I don't think he could quite believe it. As he advanced, the Stenny keeper came out and he finished coolly to make it 3-0.
We pressed forward and quite unlike Darren, he made two substitutions with about 10 minutes to go which were very attack-minded - with Barrowman and Archibald replacing Ferrie and Fish. There was no doubt we were going for it but in truth I think it disrupted our rhythm a bit. Stenny continued to press and with about 5 minutes to go they got a great consolation goal. A good move down their right hand side saw a great ball into the box being finished nicely by their number 2 McCormack. Ross had no chance but once again we lost a soft goal to a straightforward ball into the 6 yard box. We should be dealing with this sort of ball a lot better than we are.
The ref blew for full time and our season is over. The stadium announcer let us all know that Stranraer had won 1-0 and that was that for another season. Just time for everyone to clap and cheer everyone else - supporters, back room staff and player alike.
So what can you say? The boys gave it everything today and it seems a tad churlish to complain about missing a few chances and giving away a fairly cheap goal. In truth they were all absolute stars for every one of the 90 minutes. They took their chances when they came in the second half and were first to, and won, every 50:50 ball. Mick and brother Ross were great as were Kyle and Reidy. Ross Drummond continually looks for a forward pass and although a little careless at times he is a player. Fish and Ally were immense. I'm pretty sure we have keeper Ross signed up for next year which is a great piece of business. He was my man of the match today for a string of fine saves in both halves. His kicking is good, actually his kicking is great and he has more than ably filled the boots of his predecessor.
Decent crowd today. Don't know the attendance but there were a few hundred Rovers fans who made the journey through. Ultimately other results didn't go our way but we are a right good team and should be proud of the efforts over the season. I think we might have done well in the play offs as we are coming into a bit of form at the moment but who knows, maybe next year will be our year!

Highlight of today was Prof simulating a dive on the bus which surely results in a yellow card which will carry on til next season!
