I'd probably prefer watching repeats of Hollyoaks than Rovers this season. I know things are bad, but I don’t think they’re “Hollyoaks bad” just yet

There is nothing wrong in having multiple allegiances.
Peter has had an Ibrox season ticket for years and Prof has had an Airdrie one for at least 20 years.

Grant I think you are bang out of order bringing up that one of our directors has a season ticket for Rangers FC, what's that got to do with anything going on with ARFC at this moment. I have seen Mark at home games & also some away games, you really should keep ur thoughts to yourself at times,

The personal stuff should be toned down, better still dropped.
I do not agree/disagree with Grant on any/everything but think he is entitled to his opinion without getting his face chewed off. We are on here to listen to fellow Rovers supporters.
Grant was at the forefront of a group of Supporters Club members in the 70s who got the match day programme going, after the FC let the programme lapse for how many years I don't know.
As is the way of these things, pretty soon Grant was doing most of the work himself. I have a memory of a wacky old Gestetner churning out the barely printed pages which then had to be gathered together (sometimes in order!) and then stapled together. Slow and laborious does not cover it.
Chasing up content was one job. A big one was chasing up adverts and, importantly, payment of adverts, as the way I remember it, the FC said that they would not fund any shortfall.
The quality of the programme sky rocketed when Grant got in touch with the Morrow brothers who operated a printing business out of their garage just on Whifflet Park, can't remember the street name. It definately helped that you could read the content.
Over the whole period the Rovers programme was always in the running for programme awards and was sometimes awarded the top award. That is down to Grant and his efforts.
Grant was also involved in the early days of the Supporters team.
Grant then moved South for work reasons. I do not think anyone should knock Grant for his commitment to the Rovers, he has put in the hours and the effort.
(As an aside, if I have missed out anything from the programme story, can you fill in what I have missed?)

Thank you to the keyboard warriors (who hide their real names) who have been asking after me - over the past few days (and for the next couple of weeks at least)I have been working my butt off for a charity which is very close to me, having had to step up the plate when another organiser had to temporarily stand down.

Ginty.....on October 21st I pm`d you.......still waiting on a reply......offer still stands Grant you Pm’d Me after I asked you what the agenda was , who were the people you were wanting to take over etc. I’m not wanting involved in back room chats behind the scenes. If there are people genuinely wanting to help the club , and I hope there are, get it out in the open and let’s hear from them or whoever is doing their bidding and find out why they want involved , what their plans for the club are. Not Chinese whispers where nobody can be held account to anything. If there is a consortium let’s hear from them!! We’ve had too many comings & goings and big egos who promised much and delivered the square root of hee haw. It’s easy to criticise Ronnie Boyd and the board , god I’ve done it myself but they’ve hung around and in RB case he’s addressed the flack on occasions. There are many areas I and I imagine others will feel can be improved off the park but these guys are giving up their time for little or no reward and from what I hear have put their hand in their pocket to bail the club out more than once. To Nanook , I’m not doubting Grants credentials and his programme work in the 70’s should be remembered...however John Brogan was one of our best players according to the older fans on here but it didn’t stop Grant & many others slaughtering him, so if there is valid reasons for criticism then Grant should be fair game. Mark Hunter was fair game to Grant. For the record I know neither personally

Not keyboard warriors Grant , just concerned for your health. Supporting ARFC in these times does come with a health warning. Good to see you’re ok & well done on stepping up to the plate for the charity!!

In defence of Ronnie Boyd, yes, he came via the Supporters Trust, not a crime surely, pre-retirement he was involved in the Education service of a local authority (South Lanarkshire Council, I think) at a high level.
The crucial point is that he can deal with accounts, read financial instruments and deal with budgets. A much needed skill in these difficult financial times.
Why is so much effort going into knocking Directors of the Board and building up Directors who walked away?
