Good luck Kevin, I'm sure you've got the whole Rovers "family" backing for this appointment because lets be honest, surely it can't be any worse than your predecessor.
Again, though, it must be said that this is another risky appointment, which is not what I was wanting given our league position. However for me the difference for this appointment compared to Brogans is that with Brogans it was "whoa! Didn't see that coming, not completely convinced it is the right man though" whilst with Harpers it was "whoa! Didn't see that coming but at least it is someone with some relative top flight competitive experience who these players will*** remember and can hopefully look up to and can inspire".
The Peterhead game was the first game I've seen, but overall I felt that the correct manager could get a helluva lot more out of these players. I'd hope that the majority are not the complete & utter duds the league position & previous results would suggest. Thankfully this appointment has been made whilst other teams are still within reaching distance.
Just a few questions to ask:
Has an assistant been announced? Let's not forget that Darren Young was a rookie but had experienced assistants. I personally felt the #2 helped us win the league much more than Young did.
How old was 'Crunchie' when he played with us?!
Will Jimbo change his avatar now a new appointment has been made?!
***I remember KH playing & I hope the current players can too otherwise I will suddenly feel incredibly old!

Yep, you should have been on here ages ago John. Looks like a very diverse list. No doubt Tommy will confirm it in due course. This is still a gamble. I would like to have seen ML appointed, just my opinion. Done a very good job at EK and has a lot of good connections in the game. Hope Kevin does well, but with no senior experience (in management) its another gamble at a time where we need survive. Hope I’m proved wrong Not saying ML wouldn’t have done a good job but are we classing Lowland League as senior now?? Didn’t Harper have a job down under , doesn’t appear to have lasted long right enough

So, who applied then tommy, and what were their credentials? Just so I can share your view about the Kevster being the best option. It is highly unlikely that we will ever know the full list of candidates. Its time to move on and back the Manager and the BoD's judgement. There has to be some sort of trust here. In saying that, as per usual, only results and time will tell. I'm wishing Kevin and the team well, will expect a massive improvement and fresh players being brought in due to Kevin's contacts that can play at a far better level than some of our players at the moment. In the meantime an instant impact and a better one than Mr. Murray has had on the other side of the great divide. Come on rovers!! Interesting , I thought that you were someone who has thought the board have been clueless, needed replaced etc etc. Now you’ve decided it’s time we move on and back the BoD judgement? Not disagreeing just a strange about turn from yourself. Could it be you have a skin in the game ?? Also Kevster apart🤦🏻♂️ How do you know the contacts in the game that can play at a higher level?? It’s almost like you were present at the interview Prorege. If he has players who can play at a better level (wouldn’t be hard) do we have money to sign them & why aren’t they at clubs already, Also agree on Ian Murray but 2 weeks ago people on here were hailing him as Niddries Fabio Capello , nowt as fickle as a football fan

The new Manager should be in training tomorrow night with the players, could go and watch and meet kevin and see what his plans are with his new team.

Nice fishing trip but again you've caught nothing as you're fishing in the wrong waters. No, I wasn't present at the interview as I'm not on the BoD and only associated with the club through a season ticket. For the first time.
I am a very strong critic of the BoD as, imho, the club can be run better and whilst debt reduction is good the lack of revenue generation is a concern. Having seen no clear forward plans is a mighty concern with some recent points already covered off as a consequence of the lack of a strategic vision.
On the appointment side I, like many other rovers fans, have very little idea on what KH brings because there is no track record to judge. The head says wait and see (and keep quiet) the heart says back the manager and the team. Results and time will tell. I've opted for the latter.
I will continually challenge the BoD where I think they can do better however in this case I am not in a position to do so, because unlike some I have no idea of the calibre of applicants, as I wasnt privy to the assessment process.
I'm giving a bit of trust back to the BoD because surely they wouldn't make the same mistake twice. KH may turn out great, I hope he does, so I will not be a critic based on the information in front of me. It's now over to a subject close to my heart, Performance Management. Results will tell.
Do not underestimate the 12th man. An extra bit of motivation and support goes a long way. I've said previously the BoD have spoken, they have again. Whether its right or wrong who knows. Back the team.
In saying all that I gave Brogan 13 competitive games after the first few results. I'm expecting KH to make an immediate impact because we need points now. A manager that can make an immediate impact would be one of my criteria when assessing for a position like this.
The BoD wouldn't make the same mistake twice. Definition of insanity. I'm sure I've said that before.

He needs to grab this from the off. If he is posted missing then that would be a concern. Think I'll pop up.

Didn’t Harper have a job down under , doesn’t appear to have lasted long right enough Quote from the team down under Mounties Wanderers Facebook page... "Mounties Wanderers Press Release I am sure that by now you would have heard our Senior Technical Director, Kevin Harper has returned to Scotland as he was home sick and missing his family, not to mention his three year old boy. Kevin, only served 3 months of his two year deal. This was devastating news for our club, but nevertheless we wish Kevin the very best in his future endeavours. MOVING FORWARD: "Kevin Harper you are a legend.....Well done boys..Another three wins over Parramatta FC "

***I remember KH playing & I hope the current players can too otherwise I will suddenly feel incredibly old! Haha I’m afraid we’re old Aldo! The vast majority of the squad do not in fact remember him playing. They are impressed with his CV, but unlike us they don’t remember Kevin flying up and down the wings at Easter Road with his giant ‘Mitre’ strip that was far too big for him (as was the ‘fashion’ at the time)

He was also capped at the U/21 level 7 times for Scotland- something our young squad can inspire to someday ?
