And key members of the squad who came close to reaching the promotion play-offs last term look set to put pen to paper.
Keeper Ross Stewart, left-back Kyle Turnbull and midfielder Paul Willis have verbally agreed deals.
Long-serving right-back Alan Reid has also agreed terms for another year — and will be granted a testimonial.
Midfielders Gary Fisher and Mark Ferry and teenager Paul Archibald have signed fresh one-year contracts.
Offers are currently being considered by Mick Dunlop, Ross Davidson, Scott McBride and back-up keeper Blair Lochhead.
Last season’s top scorer Ally Love has also been made an offer to remain at Cliftonhill.
But the 24-year-old is being courted by two rival League One clubs.

Rovers player/manager Darren Young revealed: “We’re confident that we can get most of these boys signed up.
“It’s a tight budget that we’re working with. We know that and we understand that.
“We want to keep the solid base that we have in defence and midfield and we know where we need to get guys in.
“One or two of our guys have done exceptionally well and you would expect other clubs to show interest and come in with offers.”
Stranraer hitman Jamie Longworth remains a top target for Rovers.
But the Blues play the first leg of their Championship play-off final with Ayr United tonight and no movement is expected until the second leg is completed on Sunday.
Released Airdrieonians striker David Cox is on Rovers’ shopping list but he could be off to join former manager Gary Bollan at League Two Forfar Athletic.
Rovers will report back for pre-season training on Tuesday, June 14.
The 2016-17 campaign will begin on Saturday, July 16 with the new sectional stage of the League Cup.
