Never mind the "cul de sac"; you need the info to get yourself out of driving the wrong way in a one way street.
Too busy foaming at the mouth with regards to DC to notice Rovers community people being involved setting up a CIC. Who'd have thought.
Perhaps the BoD can shed some light on Community activity and this new direction for Rovers in the Community.

But 'DC' is the head of this company, so naturally questions must arise, given that he is actively seeking to oust the current board. Also, as a minor shareholder, a legitimate question would be whether or not this company has been granted permission to use the name 'Albion Rovers'.

In addition to those questions, it is also worth pointing out that, as we have been told many times on this forum, the 'Companies' House' information is very much part of a public forum, freely available to anyone who would wish to inspect it, so the five members have made no attempt to conceal the formation of 'Albion Rovers C.I.C'. Surely it begs the further question about what exactly the purpose of this company is? Again, as a shareholder of Albion Rovers FC, I think this is a perfectly natural question to pose to the directors of this company, given that they are using the name of the company of which I am a shareholder.

David you are quite correct and very well put. Putting DC aside it is correct to ask the question. What is this, why is it happening and how does it fit in with the Rovers. All valid points. However, and I'm certain you'll agree, the thread did not begin that way. Some appalling comments as some posters were most certainly, imho, foaming at the mouth at the thought of uncovering something. Even having a pop at a Rovers official.
Some appalling posts on this thread whereby you have articulated the questions superbly.
RoTR also provided a good summary of the public records and a link to what a CIC is. All very relevant.
Hopefully someone, either from the new entity or from the Rovers, will clarify the role of this new entity or is it just formalising a model that is already there.
I dont see much updates of the community work that the Rovers do, other than a couple of football camps, so I'm interested in this as well.

He's publically stated that he wishes for a small number of new directors on board, himself included according to the tiser, not a complete removal of the board. As you know I'm all for some refreshing of the board whether it's from a DC led group or others. The current setup is not working and #thegreatescape hasn't changed my mind.

ProRege, I can confirm that DC's new company has absolutely no connection with the Albion Rovers Community Trust (aka Rovers In The Community). I can also confirm that neither the club or the Community Trust were notified of DC's intention to establish this new venture - nor was permission requested to use the words 'Albion Rovers' in the company name.

'DC' has yet to say who these people are; hence the reason why, as a shareholder of the club, it is difficult for me to give any consideration to possible changes to the board. All we have are un-named members of a 'consortium' and lengthy, unchallenged interviews with local journalists. I can't see how anyone can offer support for this approach as it is shrouded in absolute mystery. And the setting up of a company using Albion Rovers' name without permission from the club strikes me as very odd and somewhat counter-productive.

Cheers Bill. Interesting.
David - remember DC claims to have a large shareholding behind him who obviously know the plan. Who these shareholders are I haven't a clue. Just means minority and non shareholders have to stay outside of the action as it unfolds. It also means there are a group of shareholders not happy with the current direction of the club. Which I understand fully.

I think even as a minor shareholder the whole point is to be involved in the 'action' by asking questions. They might be uncomfortable ones for the 'major shareholders' or, indeed, the board, but I do have a right to raise questions at any AGM/EGM. It would, therefore, be helpful to know what is going on, given that I will, presumably, be voting.

So how come he went to a meeting with the Board and told them to resign? I would be in favour of a refreshing of the Board too, providing that capable people of integrity were involved. DC is not in that category. He has shown himself to be a thin-skinned egotist, wholly unsuited to the task.

Not my understanding Rab. Getting rid of 8-9 board members in the one go is very unhealthy. I would never support that. Refreshing 3-4 members that represent a large shareholding is not unusual and especially given the current track record over the past 18 months.
The foundations in place dont seem to be that solid either. Saying that, the mast money may get us over the line this season.
Not exactly a medium to long term plan though.

He has shown himself to be a thin-skinned Come on. At any level of being in public you would need to be. That is a necessary attribute. That you also need to have for being a member of this forum 😉

I am going to guess from the way you worded that your ego took a hit when 1 person said they didnt know who you were. The way you worded your statement is quite aggressive especially the thanks at the end, quite smarmy makes you sound like the type of person who looks down his nose at folk. Sorry Chris you felt it came across like this. It wasn't ment to be I just thought I would share who I am without having a big speel. Ladies and gents, may I suggest we forget all about these rumour and scaremongers until they actually ever come up with anything, which is highly unlikely and seems like they,ve got carried away playing football manager. Even more worrying that one of these directors responding to Chris cannot even spell properly or use correct grammar, very assuring!!!!!

Well done spotting the deliberate (ment) mistake Mr Tallan. Hope your directorship of the new company has as much attention to detail when checking documents. See if you can spot the other mistake and you'll get a caramel wafer.😉
