Thought there might be a bit more chat about this latest article from our fearless investigative local newspaper journalist? Why? "Coup" is over although he has mentioned a six figure sum behind them. In terms of the CIC he is continuing with it, the club have distanced themselves from it and it's a pity the CIC are going to recruit the 500 kids in the setup along with the sponsorship, funding and grants instead of us. Thought we should be doing that. Anyway, good luck to him.

Does he have permission to use the name? An unanswered question from earlier. I think it's a fair enough thing to ask.

So how can he attract grants, etc.? I still find it very odd that he would set up a company using the name of another company. I think as a shareholder I'm entitled to ask the questions; as yet, no aswer.

I dont think he needs to as long as it's not a registered trademark, it's just going to be the youth teams he was involved with at rovers

Why not call them 'Caldwell Athletic' or something? Why use Albion Rovers as the name? I don't get it.

I assume, giving him the benefit of the doubt, he still harbours hopes of tying in with the club to get the community youth set up.
Unfortunately, my personal opinion is that he went about it all wrong.

A couple of the directors are already involved in the youth set up. DC stated he was just formalising it. To attract grants and funding these days a CIC is the best option.

Ah it all seems to pull in money...sorry ‘government grants’. The coup is apparently off so here’s another way to try force yourself onto the board...

Nobody can`force` their way on to the BOD....only the shareholders can impliment change or ratify Directors co-opted onto the board by the existing Directors...this word `coup` was the name dreamed up by `Ginty` McGlone.

Grant without trying to get into any sort of debate as I think DC has had more than enough air time with all things rovers, let’s look at it... he appears when the club have money, the money was all used up and then he disappeared. Now, with a wee bit of digging there’s money to get Mucky fingers onto with ‘government funding’ using the kids football and it appears his name crops up again. I’m not a detective but is it all just a coincidence? Or am I way of the mark with my thoughts?

I rest the case on the fact that only the shareholders can `force` change...not an individual with a small shareholding. DC became involved AFTER the club was crippled with the Shawbrook loans (don`t hear much condemnation about those that took those out )so your comments are way off the mark. Quite why anyone with ideas or indeed money would want to become involved at ARFC and become the subject of abuse by some of the posters on here.
