Delighted I never went. This tournament has been wrecked by u21s, Welsh and Irish teams entering. Standing in a monsoon paying anything at all to watch a weans team destroy us by 4 isn’t a good Tuesday night and a biscuit makes no difference.

Better play good on Saturday, or cove will take all 3 points back home.

We didn't play our usual first eleven, and in spells we done ok.Those boys at Hearts are full time whatever way you look at it.If that runout tonight, plays its part in getting prepared for the League, then so be it.Thats the positive to take out of it.Not every defeat is a negative.

Good run out with some fringe players. Result disappointing but missed penalty and some opportunities couldve turned it.
Back to the first XI on Saturday and a decent result against Cove.
Man of the match was the first half announcer 😉

I wasn’t at the game as this competition is beyond farcical. I am assuming tge manager is pointing the finger at Krones and possibly Wharton as well.

Yep. Some of the recent non first XI starters didnt look as if they were showing Kev and Joe what they were missing. Or maybe they did and set Kev off.
Normal service resuming Saturday and given the league is a priority I'm glad we're not playing next week either.

Most colt teams I have seen have been cannon fodder but Hearts were a different level. Big, strong and better all round. We did alright and had the penalty gone in at 2-1 might have got something from the game. Heads went down after that. Need to find a better penalty taker. Ref was of the usual standard of 1 out of 10 on the Jimbo "I hate referees" scale! With a fair number of the colts teams going through the cup is now a farce and not what it was originally meant to be. Dump them or scrap it all together. It is a mess. Tunnocks have sponsered a turkey or possibly a lees macaroon bar!

As Jimbo said that Hearts Colt team are a level above most. They included a load of guys who have a decent amount of first team experience including Harry Cochrane who was the talk of Scottish football a couple of years ago.
Not to mention a 34 year old Irish international Goalkeeper. I don't think we played horribly , a bit disjointed which is understandable and if the pen went in who knows what might have happened.
I think KH's post match interview is purposely vague to save him from signaling out one (maybe 2) in particular who were maybe on the shakiest of pegs after the Dunfermline game anyway. I expect most of these guys to feature again over the season with only one being sent out on loan to "Antarctica"

See that a fair number of the Colts teams went through. Could end up with only Colt teams and the welsh and irish teams in it. A fine mess and not exactly what the cup was supposed to be about. Another fine piece of decision making from the Scottish Football Heirarchy. Scrap it.

Still think we couldve beaten them with a first XI but not sad that we're out.
