I see from the Advertiser reporter on Twitter that Chairman Eddie Hagerty has given Kevin Harper the infamous vote of confidence!

Are we seriously considering changing the manager at this juncture?

I certainly should think not.

We need to rally around the management team and the players during this difficult period- we have talented players as individuals but they need to gel together more cohesively in the coming weeks. Fort William is vital to get that confidence going as we have Cove coming up soon after- a settled back 4 with a sergeant major in there is what we need and a creative midfield to flow to the forwards. Let the players copy Will Grahams tenacity !

Well said Eddie but you didn't see what we witnessed on Saturday. As I've said elsewhere, we Must improve results before Christmas. It's a results driven business and everyone must pull together and move us forward.
Up The Rovers.

Peter If Smart doesn’t run round the track faster than Usain Bolt during half time at the next home game personally he should be sacked.

Have we forgotten last season. We have been as bad as anything in the brogan era. Are we going to wait until its to late? I am dreading the Fort William game. We are clueless.

I’m torn on this.
Kevin Harper seems like a thoroughly decent guy and helped save the club from what would have been a cataclysmic relegation.
However, first 3 games of the league season aside, we’ve looked clueless and seem to be lacking in any motivation. We’ve lost our heart and the manager’s inability to stick to a starting 11 has left us all at sea in recent games in all 3 areas.
If we don’t dispose of Fort William with relative ease, I’d expect some developments on the managerial front.
Time will tell...

At the end of the day it is results that decide if a manager stays or go.
I wouldn't hit the panic button just yet.
Cup win against Fort William is a must. If we don't get that I see no way back.
I expect us to beat FW but we must start picking up results in the league and soon.

There is no way Harper will be sacked at the moment. I think pararells to Brogan are a bit off - I think we forget just how bad it was.
The last three games have been especially bleak, I think part of this is the last two we really felt that despite not playing very well we probably could have got a draw because those teams were also pretty rubbish.
I don't remember coming away from any Brogan defeat thinking we got anything other than exactly what we deserved , last year we were a poor team playing to their level , this season we are a decent team playing below themselves.
Stats wise we have double the points and almost three times as many goals as we did under Brogan in the first quarter last season. We also have a points total we didn't reach till March last season.
I think its just a case of Kevin getting a bit of belief back into these guys that they are a decent team and also maybe getting in one of two additions to strengthen a couple of areas (defensive midfield / Center Back). Given he managed to turn around a full squad last year I think we need to back him to make the running repairs needed.
I get the point that there is no Berwick this season, but we also didn't have Berwick at this point last season. They were a decent team putting 5 past us , this year we have two teams literally worse off than us.

Got to agree - Saturday was bad - but not Brogan bad. Under Brogan we never looked like getting anything from any game. On Saturday, had Declan Byrne converted a golden chance it the first half - it might just have been a different result. Under Brogan we would not even have created a chance far less pulled one back.

Could you define what disposing of Fort William with relative ease means? We all know and have seen cup shocks that have involved Rovers. You were a backroom staff member when Sunnybank dumped us out the cup. Make no mistake Fort William will come with the sleeves rolled up so we have to match them. Right now i would take a 1-0 or 2-1 victory

We have got steadily worse since the league cup. What if such and such scored doesn't cut it. We aren't scoring goals. We can't defend. There is no midfield. No sense of direction. No set team and better players not getting games. Rudderless. I do think we are as bad as last season. Last season the manager didn't know his best team and neither does harper. Other clubs have changed manager and improved. We have a decent squad but no leadership. We should as a senior club not be worrying about fort William who have one of the worst records in Scottish football but we are. That says it all. We should hammer them but right now are willing to accept any win and losing isn't beyond belief. Also if there is unrest in the dressing room then rarely is there any way back for a manager. I have only ever turned against two managers. Lumsden and brogan. Harper looks, unfortunately, like number three. Saturday's post match silence at the final whistle will soon change to calls for dismissal if a miracle doesn't happen. Can't see that.

Jings Jimbo you really have left the Happy Clappers well and truly behind I think it is a reasonable expectation that Albion Rovers should beat Fort William. That for me isn't being disrespectful of an opponent or forgetting about our various other Cup calamities over the years. We should beat them. Plain and simple. Anything else would probably be the worst Cup result in my time as a Rovers fan. I think we need to hold a steady nerve. Get through the cup tie and look to build some sort of momentum. It's going to be tough. If there was one team in the league who I thought was worse than us then it would have been Elgin and they have just pumped us at home. KH kept us in the league last season when we looked dead and buried so I feel we owe him a bit of loyalty. My other fear is that our Board would make a complete mess of trying to appoint another manager. Keep the faith.
