Lots of positivity on here and I would cautiously agree with most of it. First goal was very poor defence but Airdrie were faster and sharper than most of what we will be up against in League 2. Scally showed a degree of inventiveness at times that we haven't seen before and Roberts occasionally looked a genuine threat: let's hope this is the start f things to come from them. East and Byrne have a decent touch but look lightweight most of the time. Overall, I think we have enough to avoid the bottom spot but not much more. I agree with the expressions of disappointment in what we didn't get from the referee, but then I think that much of the time and, who knows, maybe I'm a little bit biased.
At the moment I would settle for safety with three or four games to play.

Gave them a game today and 2-1 would have been a fairer scoreline (2-2 actually as the handball was an easy penalty for an impartial ref). Radical change needed in defence though. We are losing goals which we shouldn't be. As for the impartial ref, what part of Airdrie does he come from! Total cheat! Usual standard. Nothing new. Ref should have consulted Rovers version of VAR Jimbo ......VCR

Great effort yesterday. 4-1 not reflective of scoreline 3-2 would have been more like it. We couldnt cope with them on the break imo,up front they were one touch and not regular two or three touches that seems to be the norm in league two but no disgrace. If we can take the effort into our league campaign we should be ok as lots of positives from yesterday. having said that i still reckon we could do with a big lump of a centre half and also similiar striker, hopefully something that might be addressed in january.

Jason krones continues to look like a lost schoolboy, every time we conceed a goal he stick out his arms as if to say what happened there
Defensive horror show again
Will be bottom soon enough if we dont get better in that area of the park

I am getting heartily sick of the comments about Smart. After being on for two minutes yesterday he gave the ball away at the half way line, yes it was a bad mistake. Then taunts of “come and sit up here Smart” from the stand. No player is beyond criticism yet we have a defensive line up who waltz into the team week in week out, give the same goals away week in week out, fail to clear their lines week in week out. A 4 year old wean could clear the ball further. What criticism to they get ? Nada.

Their 2nd and 3rd goals came from foul throws. The players feet are well over the line.

Highlights are available if you choose to watch them! If you’re brave enough have a look at the goals we give away. Can’t fault the players for effort but this isn’t good enough.

Was very proud of the team: 4-1 very harsh on us. Good battling performance. Keep going boys. Scally was outstanding, as was Goodfellow in goal.

We can't read too much into a defeat by Airdrie as it was expected.
I am somewhat perplexed at the posts on here after every defeat which are trying to suggest that the performance indicates we have turned a corner and a change in fortune is imminent.
We are where we are in the league due to poor form and a defence that continually leaks multiple goals per game.
A look at some of those Scottish Cup results gives an indication of the calibre of ambitious Clubs who will be eyeing Rovers league position in the next few seasons.
The sooner we get honest about what we are facing in the next few seasons the better.
I think our best chance is for Brechin to plummet and do a Berwick.Otherwise a long hard season ahead.

A decent performance and we gave them a game. Thought a lot of the players put in a shift Phillips, Moreno, Roberts. Scally was MotM easily his best game for us. Goodfellow did well great second half save from a corner. Turning point for me was Byrne’s poor effort at 1-2, Roberts cutback perfectly for him , should have taken the goal nets off the rigging with that one. That being said when it boils down our defending is nowhere near good enough. At set plays we cannot clear our lines it’s a major issue and I can’t believe Kevin and Joe accept that week in week out. It’s just woeful. Thought Lynas had an absolute nightmare today I swear at times he was running away from the ball. Great to see a full house at Cliftonhill- the noise drowns out Peter McLurgs woeful patter. Back to our bread and butter next week. I'm pretty sure that the miss at 1-2 was Scally, not Byrne.

Performances have improved no doubt since the dismal home draw to Fort William. But you can sum us up in three words-Rovers leak goals. It’s going to cost the manager his job if it doesn’t improve. There is a lot of stock in Calum Home who is returning from injury after 20 minutes against QP. We could do with a change in luck is well which is part of it, but I do believe you make your own luck.

Only second game of season for me, have to say quite impressed by overall play, good individual and team effort. At 2-1 that sclaff/save would have blown the game wide open.
Yes, dodgy goals were lost late on, but Rovers were right in it till near the end and, to be fair, against a full time team, fitness counts. Our visitors were not brilliant but deserved the win overall, wrote that last bit grudgingly.
At the end, Rovers people drifted off but the Airdrie team were celebrating with their supporters like they had won a real tight match, so a bit of a compliment towards Rovers there, I think.
