Technically you dont have semi pro or pro players in scotland that's an english term
You have senior junior amateur and youth up here
All senior players over 21 I'm sure sign professional contracts except queens park (for the moment) who sign amateur
I have no issue with criticism, when it’s warranted and realistic. Saying that the player isn’t what we need, when he is a centre half and a centre half is EXACTLY what we need is when I have to question the thought process. I was also simply trying to give a fuller picture of what’s involved in getting ‘rid of’ players and how the club and manager are ALWAYS working hard behind the scenes to get the squad right, whether that is players in or out and again it was taken by some as an excuse to have a go at the club and manager.
So I don’t see anything that I said as blindly challenging criticism and in fact I would say some of the criticism was blinkered in a negative way. But as has been said ad nauseam it’s all about opinions. 👍🏼
Ah! So it has to be ‘warranted’ and ‘realistic’ - that clears that up...NOT. What you deem as ‘warranted’ and ‘realistic’ may differ hugely from the opinion of your average ‘Vers fan who has spent money and time over the years support ARFC. Perhaps even directly contributing to the playing budget through the squad fund. Let’s be honest, disposing of dead wood should be easy at this level. Contracts are hardly elaborate and should not signed if the club are unsure that it’ll be easy to dispose of a player who is surplus to requirements...or just plain mince.
I’m curious - does the Manager/Assistant/playing staff know that you post on here? If so, do they have an opinion on it? As a paid employee of the club, it seems downright unprofessional. The Manager and BoD are held accountable by the fans, but you seem to do their bidding for them. Curious.

After all he is a fan so could maybe be doing the job for free ☺️

Can we all get off our high horses and give thanks that we've got a board, management team and backroom staff that care passionately about our great club.

That old chestnut. Have we ever not got behind the team? When you have just watched the garbage performance against Stirling Albion (and most of the season) there is going to be a reaction. All very well to have an enthusiastic board, management, etc but they also have to be up to the task. In relation to the management team the juries still very much out on that one. Do we sit by meekly and let us get relegated (still a possibility) or do we make some noise about it. If we hadn't last season we'd be gone. We have a better squad than last season but some of the performances have been as bad. You can't sit and fiddle while we burn!

Notice that our rivals Stenny have signed NINE players since November, most of loans or to the end of the season except Spence who signed on an 18 month contract

From first impressions I thought the “18 year old laddie” had a good debut.

Hes one of the reasons that Queens park have went proffessional, they missed out on a 5 figure development fee when he left
