Oooft, what a day to feel under the weather and decide to give the game a miss (ok, ok I was hungover, it was my Christmas night out last night - long story, don't ask). From being potentially two points off the bottom based on the half-time scores (or indeed at about 4:39pm by the look of it!), to a six-point gap over Brechin thanks to a couple of late fightbacks with the actual six-pointer coming in seven days, this could well turn out to be a pivotal afternoon. Well done to all the guys, and a special mention to that man Smart - nice one!

Assuming it survives the weather I’ll go for 2-2. You heard it here first! Great comeback by Vers, didn’t look like there was most of the league and a helluva lot of budget between the 2 teams. Thanks to Smart once again at Elgin.

Brilliant display to a man. One of the most deserved comebacks since we last drew with Cove. Brilliant team spirit, wonderful goalkeeping from Goodfellow with two wonder saves. We deserved two penalties too. Still I am chuffed to bits for Kevin Harper and his backroom team. I applaud you sir. Just need the same commitment next Saturday against Brechin. Happy Saturday everyone.

Great display from the Rovers, should have won. Looks like their multi millionaire chairman bought them a referee during the transfer window

The most cynical team I have seen in years. Cove made no attempt to play any football. Three absolutely clear penalties turned down. Superb Rovers' fightback.

Wow what a rollercoaster!!!
Gutted not to have gotten the 3 points, the boys were superb and probably deserved the win.
But 3 points against the supposed best team in the league, certainly the biggest budget. (They had £50,000 worth of players on the park in the shape of 2 players at one point).
I thought we played the better football at times, and we out fought them for the most part, probably the part of the game we have lacked at times.
As for the penalties... unbelievable! Told Dec that the one on him in the first half where the guy pulled him down that “the defender stepped back and you just fell” despite having 2 hands pulling him back 🙈 The straight leg tackle on Scally “was just a block tackle” I honestly struggle to see what these guys see when watching a game.

Agree with most of that except for the penalties - more on that in a minute.
Cove looked and played like world beaters until they went 1-0 up and then stopped! They had passed us to death by then with the Rovers players chasing shadows and I feared a battering. However it all changed after they scored. Rovers outplayed them all over the park from then on in. Cove only really came back into it at 2-2 when they hit the bar and we had Goody to thank again for a couple of cracking saves. He's the most improved player this season and was my man of the match.
Two great goals from Euan and Scott was no more than we deserved. Over the piece we probably did enough to win the game, albeit narrowly. It did look to me like Cove thought all they had to do was turn up and that would be enough today. We certainly put them in their place.
As for the penalties........... the pull on Declan was probably a penalty but the definite penalty for me was in the second half when Ousy was dragged down whilst their defender headed the ball out for a corner. The rest were hopeful at best.
Two good points this week and last. Team looked sharp and fit and played like they wanted to win today. It's night and day from the lackadaisical performances before Christmas.
Crowd was just under 300 today but did look like more. A good number of young guys in the stands with Rovers tracks on etc - looked like some of the youth folks. Maybe they don't pay to get in which is probably fair enough.

Think we will struggle today with will graham in the starting 11 That's more than a tad harsh. Not the best player we've ever had in our midfield but he's putting in a shift; week in, week out. Does a lot of the unsung hero work for me. Having said that there is no reason for a grown man to be wearing pink boots. It's fine for the star players with bags of confidence in the boys and youth teams but that's it. However the 'man bun'............ wtf is that all about? There is no excuse for that and his team mates need to tell him.

I'm not kidding about the man bun btw. Unless he's as hard as f*ck I bet he's getting it tight in that dressing room.

Nobody has mentioned it yet, but a big thank you to SMART for bagging the winner against Brechin , it's the best he's played for us so far this season

A great result given the relative positions (and budgets) of the two clubs. Each of the players today could be a contender for MOTM given the effort they put in,especially towards the end when it appeared the referee was determined we should get nothing from the game. My one gripe would be that, when we had got an equaliser and looked more in control of the game, the players seemed intent on running the clock down rather than going for a winner, which we could have got and which would have made it perhaps the result of the season. I do hope that this was not on instruction from the dugout as some fans thought they had observed.

Well done all. Cracking point. 2 great goals, couple of cracking saves and deserved point. Was going to praise the ref until his penalty garbage. Must have had a bet on! The one on Byrne, the one on ousy and a clear handball. Will take a while for that to balance out. Same again next week guys. Except maybe the man bun! Mind you, it takes a brave man to tell Will Graham!

I've no problem with the players trying to run the clock down after coming back from 2-0 down against the champions-elect. I'd say that was sensible game management. A point at home against Cove given the respective differences between the clubs is a point won for sure.
