There are 32 North Juniors teams and still 38 East Juniors, don’t know if many/any have applied for the East of Scotland League next term. As far as I’m aware senior teams are only eligible for the Scottish Cup if they’re members of SFA (presumably they all shall be) and have a license which the vast majority do not have at present.

Ardrossan WR and Ardeer Thistle have both announced they’ve applied.

More news now coming out that the north Calidonian FA and northern juniors are looking to form a tier 6 and presumably 7, 8 and 9 below the highland league with promotion and relegation.
The north calidonia league is already a senior league and has 10 teams, 4 more clubs are allowed to take part in cup competitions in the past it has had Fort William and Wick academy move to highland league and currently Golspie Sutherland hold a full SFA membership so get in Scottish cup
The northern juniors are small teams compared to their lowland counterparts, banks o Dee and bridge of don probably being the biggest, our old foes sunnybank are in the second tier, having never recovered after they beat us. It's made of 32 teams spread over 3 divisions.

I could see the East of Scotland League trying to get their own 5th tier status rather than feeding into the Lowland League. That would make the play-off more complex of course.

All 68 applications to join the new league have been reviewed and we are delighted to confirm that 67 have been approved.
These are the 63 Clubs currently members of the WRJFA, Bonnyton Thistle, Glasgow University, St Cadocs YC and Drumchapel United. One application fell well short of the minimum standards required.
Some Clubs have been asked for further information, mainly surrounding confirmation of use where the Club does not own the registered ground. All of the 67 applications will now move to the next step.

So all the juniors from the west, Bonnyton are currently south of scotland league, Glasgow uni and Drumchapel United are both amateur, st cadocs are a boys club team who are stepping up much in the same way Cumbernauld Colts did and Gartcairn did to junior, they will ground share with st Anthony's , I dont know the other team.
Drumchapel united is where we got a certain Micheal Hardie, where he went back to aswell.

Today all the old west region juniors were offered to retain junior membership and therefore allow entry into the junior cup
Maryhill have knocked it back saying they are now a senior team so will not continue junior membership even changing their name from Maryhill Juniors fc to Maryhill fc, I wonder how many will do the same

Surprising, as they had their cake and could eat it too!
