I see Stenny are raising funds by selling available shares.
I know we dont have time for issue of new shares, but wondered if particularly current shareholders would be willing make shares available with the proceeds going to the club at this critical time. We can but dream.
I have a small number of shared which I would gladly make available FWIW

Yes and I think Livingston are doing likewise around offering shares to people who give money to the club at this difficult time for all clubs. I agree Bucky that the board doesn't have the time to issue new shares but without going over the old arguments , they wouldn't be allowed to either. It would be great if all shareholders with more than say 40 shares made 10% of their shares available to the Board to sell at 4 or 5 pounds each. If my arithmetic serves me well that could bring in around 10k that would go a long way to fill the gap created by the current crisis. We can but dream and hope that our longstanding shareholders at last become proactive for the benefit of the club. I do not refer to the recent influx of new shareholders in the point I have made.

Maybe we’ll see some of our major shareholders step up to the plate.
We can but dream.

Fat chance of the ghosts doing that.

Would a letter making this suggestion - as Ronnie suggests to those shareholders with 40+ shares - - go amiss?

Great idea - I would definitely be up for purchasing some shares if they became available in this way.

Fat chance of the ghosts doing that. They might chip in with 50p on the JustGiving page Jimbo

I would also be interested in purchasing some shares if they became available.

Grant's point about a letter to shareholders asking them to give 10% of their shares to the board to sell on to raise funds is a good one but was tried a few years ago, I think with one response. Also when the shareholders were approached in the dark days of autumn 2016 to help raise funds through soft loans there were only 6 replies: one of them was yourself Grant. I can't fathom the inaction of our main shareholders at crucial times for the club. Someone once said all actions are influenced by one or other of power, sex or money. Not sure which one/s drives the complacency of our larger shareholders: answers in an envelope!
But it would be worth another try at the letter and is something the board should consider doing again.

The response by fans on the just giving page has been magnificent. Well done to Jordan getting it started.
Bucky says we can but dream...my dream for the Rovers would be a fan/community club...one day.

Ronnie Almost certainly money. I’m not actually sure Jimbo. I have spoken to people who would be regarded as close to the major shareholders and even they aren’t sure what the motive is. The man is a genuine mystery. One thing for sure the ground itself isn’t as valuable as it once was especially after the section of ground at Albion street was sold to build flats. If the motivation is money why don’t they just sell the shares, the family have had offers before to buy the shares and have refused. Back on topic though it’s definitely worth a letter going out to shareholders to see what can be generated.

Can't really think what the motive is if it's not money. A mystery indeed.

Don`t forget that if it ever came to selling the ground - for whatever reason - North Lanarkshire Council are owed £25K for ground exploratory works a number of years ago. This is always shown in the Annual Accounts.
