Spfl clubs are to vote on finishing the season as it stands.
This will mean Dundee United, Raith Rovers and Cove Rangers will be crowned champions and promoted with Stranraer and Partick Thistle relegated
The premiership will remain open as it stands

Play out to the finish, make next season an abbreviated season.
Mainly, I want Ham Accies relegated.
Are Brechin, 2nd bot in League 1, 2nd bot in Championship involved in playoffs?
Doing league reconstruction on the back of the virus is bound to mess up, so Dundee Utd go up, nobody goes down, so an uneven number of clubs in the league. Silly.

spfl.co.uk/news/spfl-clubs-to-vote-on-curtailment-of-ladbrokes-sThey cant play they season out as almost all players and managers contracts expire on 9th june, it becomes an administrative nightmare, The proposal means all play off competitions will be cancelled also, saving Brechin If there is no way to play out the premiership due to timeframe that will also be cancelled and hearts will be relegated, celtic will be champions

To play the current season to a finish would involve eating into the start of next season - so that’s effectively two seasons mucked up rather than one . As Chris has alluded player’s contracts are up before the summer. There is no easy answer to suit everyone. The priority should be saving clubs and call it quits on this season and dish out the league monies sooner rather than later. League reconstruction is the way forward to get some consensus.

Heard the Stranraer chairman on the telly, they will not be voting to get relegated. Partick Thistle unlikely to vote to be relegated. Especially as Hearts, it appears are getting a free run. Feel sorry for Brechin too, they deserve a shot at saving themselves.
The teams that thought they were fighting for a play off place at the top of the three leagues are being asked to vote to lose their chance of going up.
I make that 12 votes against, 13 if you include Brechin. Is it a straight majority of the 30 teams? Going to be tight.

If it doesn't go through I would fear for teams like the Rovers. As Nanook says it is likely to be tight. A very important decision. A yes vote would see teams like ours get much needed payments now and also not have to face the possibility of having to pay players/ staff to complete season in say June and July. Remember we still have 10 games to play: would we play those games with existing squad or could teams recruit afresh? End the season now with a chance of starting the new season around mid July with pre season starting around end of June. That may just be realistic.

There was never going to be a one size fits all with whatever proposal was going to be made - this is probably the best option going forward. The major headache is the Premier League with both Rangers and Celtic being miles apart in their views on this. However for the sake of the future of clubs in the bottom 2 tiers this would have to go through. I will raise my old tub thumping slogan again lets get the bottom 2 leagues amalgamated and back to a straight home and away format !

No Scottish football at any level until 10th June at the earliest they've announced. This has to end the season despite Budge & Co.

Professor Jason Leitch, Scottish Government Clinical Director, Healthcare Quality and Strategy, said on On the Ball that his guess was October might see the end of the virus lockdown.
October!
Either this season is buggered or next season is buggered.
Feel at the very least that this seasons Scottish Cup should be completed.
With three quarters of the 19-20 season played, to me it makes sense to play out the season, teams get championships, relegated, playoff places.
Dependent when 20-21 season starts it might have to be an abbreviated season.
The top league is getting special treatment because of Hearts threat of going to law, and the Celtic-Rangers issues, and on the back of that league re-organisations is being suggested. Not against league re-organisation, as such, like charlestheoptimist's idea of League 1 and 2 merging, but forcing some hodge podge through to avoid Budge's lawyers is just wrong.

Indeed Ann Budge cares about one club and one club only. Viciously so IMO and yes other owners/chairpersons are also to an extent but she comes over differently with the 50% pay cut stuff etc.
Scottish football has been in the hands of far too few ‘big boys’ for too long. The game is vastly biased in their favour and if you believed their Trumpian claims you’d think it was biased against them at every turn.
This “too big a club to be relegated’ rubbish annoys me big time. Even Partick Thistle are trying that one! Rovers aren’t too big to go down and we’d admit it and nobody would argue. Rant over.

'Either this season is buggered or next season is buggered'
Good use of technical language by Nanook in an earlier post in this thread. I have always subscribed to the theory that you keep the number of things you 'bugger up' to a minimum at any one time. To extend this season by trying to complete season 2019/2020 would mean eating into next season thus 'buggering up ' 2 seasons. Better to end this season and give some hope of a normal season from the summer on. I also wouldn't be against ending the season now and bringing in reconstruction in some form. Sometimes a crisis is a good time to make change. I note that when reconstruction was proposed last year only one team voted for it. It is also interesting to note that some of the teams so much against it last year are now leading the campaign to bring in change now.
Anyway, important vote today with potentially huge implications for the Rovers. Hope it goes the right way.
