The decision was made to close down the lower leagues, correct.
The vote came about by a corrupt premise, 'want the league money, vote the way we tell you', and then there was the farce with Dundee's vote.
I wrote on another thread that we should make use of the season three quarters completed. Increasing numbers of official people are saying that the start of the 'next' season is stretching into the distance. Social distancing is not going away any time soon. Football, with crowds, back in August, September, unlikely, before Christmas, possible. So much depends on a vaccine, or lack of a vaccine. There is no vaccine for the common cold, a vaccine for Covid 19 is not guaranteed. The Spanish Flu came to most countries in two waves, and some got a third wave. Hence the caution from scientist spokespeople.
What was the rush with the vote when so much was not known?

What was the rush with the vote when so much was not known? The fact that so much wasn’t known, but that football returning anytime soon was “unlikely” very unlikely and clubs like ours as well as many others up and down the SPFL pyramid needed the ‘prize money’ THAT was the rush. Our club has all the outgoings (except matchday pies and drinks etc) that they would have but with zero money coming in. We don’t know if any sponsors will be looking for part refunds on their sponsorships. So I would genuinely ask why would you have delayed the vote?

I honestly cannot see any leagues starting this side of Christmas with fans present. As I said before, the best idea would be to just start from where we left off in March but, in March 2021. Nothing else makes any sense... For both my teams🤔 Peter the realist But forget about rovers finishing a season, we have finished

Most of them are up in June so there is no guarantee if/when football reconvened clubs would have the same playing squad. Are you telling me you would be happy to play the remainder of the season 7 points behind Brechin knowing they could have a beefed up squad? All academic now the right decision was made although woefully handled.

Might be the right decision, I object to way the vote was set up. It was blackmail, pure and simple. Vote the way you are told, you will get your money, never mind that the money could just have been handed out, no strings attached.
I work part time in a hospital, I forgot to mention that the doctors said when news of Corona first broke that this emergency would run for a year.
Peter could be right. Now how often does anyone get to write that!

I see the latest plan to be mooted is hub stadiums.
This would see a few stadia utilised for all games. Rovers would play at Alloa/Stirling/Falkirk along with Airdrie, Dumbarton, Clyde, Stenny and the homesters of course.
Our away games would be there for Stenny, Hampden for QP, Dens Pk or Tannadice for Brechin, Pittodrie for Elgin, Palmerston for Stranraer & Annan, Easter Road for Edinburgh City.
The idea is that the capacities allow for social distancing and concentrating games over Thu night, Fri night, 2 on Saturdays and Sundays if needed too and of course proper cleaning etc.
Can’t see it happening but it’s definitely better than no games or closed door ones.
I can’t see it happening due to various things not least the few grass pitches struggling with so many games and fans would have to travel together which somewhat defeats the purpose!
13 stadia in total are proposed for hub use.

Interesting idea - I'd be all for it if only to see Rovers playing at Dens and Tannadice both of which would be firsts for me!
I'm becoming more optimistic about football at our level as we see things opening up in previously badly stricken areas. Watching the Bundesliga games I'm thinking that allowing even 1000-2000 fans to attend socially distanced and certified medically somehow (maybe as per China with a tracking app) would improve the atmosphere 100%.
Will be interesting to see what wee Nicola comes up with on Thursday.
