Statement on behalf of the Albion Rovers F.C board of Directors
The Board of Albion Rovers FC wish to make an important announcement in respect of their manager Kevin Harper.
It is with regret that Kevin has left the club following the expiry of his contract.
The board of directors saw a great deal of potential in Kevin and were keen for him to extend his stay with us but we were unable to agree mutually acceptable terms.
The board would like to place on record our sincere thanks for Kevin’s hard-work, dedication and commitment to the Club, particularly ensuring the retention of our league status.
Kevin leaves the club with our best wishes as he continues his career away from Cliftonhill.
The Board will now start working to find a suitable replacement for Kevin and will be making no further comment at this time.

Disappointing news for me given he’s only been here just over 1 season. Not sure if he thinks he can get a better gig elsewhere but hey ho it’s thanks very much Kevin. Now who else is out there that can work wonders.... any idea what Paul Martin is upto these days

Indifferent. Would be curious to see a W-D-L breakdown of his time at the club...

Thought it was his time to go anyway with 1 away win all season on the first day and numerous heavy defeats but will always be remembered for the great escape.
Think it will be difficult to get another job at the same level right now so don’t understand why he declined.

Agree with Jordie. Yes 9th was great 1st time but 2nd time not so much!
Thanks and good luck to him. It appears he wanted more cash to spend than Rovers could guarantee. How can the club commit at the present time?

Very disappointed. Thought he was a genuinely good guy and would've been great for Rovers over the longer term.

James Ward? Best of luck to Kevin but don't think the offers will be flooding in as he hasn't proved himself.

Best of luck to Kevin- saved the club from oblivion when asked to polish the turd left by John Brogan. However with a better squad this season I found his team a difficult watch at times - certainly better quality team but lacked dig. Money is not abundant at Rovers so I’m a firm believer that a manager should get time to build a team. To be honest the new chairman doesn’t inspire confidence and I’m quite nervous who they will go for given we have no one on the Board with a football background and I say that with respect. Can anyone confirm if Joe McLaughlin has followed suit - he did apply for the vacancy as well ad Kevin

For a new manager I would go for Dylan Kerr. He’s got a terrific record in management in Vietnam and South Africa. Just needs a chance in this country. Bags of experience as well.
Not sure if part time football is what he’s after tho’ but got to be a better gamble than the usual rota of half wits that apply.
