Kevin worked hard and without a doubt made an impression with the improvements we have seen the squad. The league position told a story though and perhaps had things not improved kevin may have reflected on his position in anycase. Wish him well though

I think that with the current impasse in football there may be more managerial changes within certain clubs as the full impact of the lockdown starts to bite in financially. It is difficult to recommend anyone at present as we need to have certainty over uncertainty and a financially stable environment that would attract the right type of candidate.

Kevin should have a statue put up for saving us last season when most thought all hope was gone.
Good luck to Kevin in the future with whatever club he ends up with,
I hope Joe McLaughlin is interested and gets the offer.

Disappointed Kevin has gone. I thought he did well. The players seemed to respect him. As many, including the statement from board, have suggested I’m sure money to improve the team may have been a stumbling block. I’m sure this will be the case for many teams going forward. He will be difficult to replace. I would like to wish well in the future and thank him for his efforts over the last couple of seasons. To everybody take care and keep safe!

We owe KH a debt of gratitude for saving us from relegation oblivion last season but hand on heart I have to say this season was a disappointment and we have not progressed in any way on the pitch.
I don't feel any sadness at his departure and it probably was time for a change.
I think Kevin has viewed Rovers as a stepping stone to something bigger but I don't think his track record warrants that optimism on his part.
Rovers took a gamble on him and it paid off.Just.I believe he applied for 40 jobs before securing the Rovers post so a bit of loyalty towards the club would not have gone amiss.
It goes without saying this this is monumental decision to get this next appointment right but I do believe there are people out there who could do a job within budget.
My old pal Keith Burgess has now retired from full time work. I'll chuck his name into the hat.

Not overly surprised or disappointed, thought we would have kicked on a bit this season but was one step forward, two back. On our day, we were a match for anyone, the 4-4 with Cove at the start of the season really had me thinking we could be in the mix for play off spot but we couldn't string a run of decent performances together. Probably not a bad time for a change. Given the shortness of his tenure and the league positions he delivered you'd be excused for thinking he was a flop but Kevin's stint will live long in the memory. Last season, maybe not for the right reasons probably one of my favourites in the 40 odd years I've been going. Mad but an absolute blast.
All the best Kevin, thanks for the memories.

Disappointed by this news. Good luck to Kevin in the future. He'll always be remembered as the manager who came in and saved us from the abyss of relegation by performing "The Greatest Escape".

As others have said we owe KH big time for last season. His stock was never going to be any higher than it was at this time last year and if he was going to get a boost to a better job then it was then. I kinda thought he would get a bigger gig than the Rovers if I'm honest.
On that basis I was glad when he stayed and with the decent looking squad (on paper) then season 19/20 looked promising inasmuch as we shouldn't be scrapping right at the foot of the table, although with the budget on offer it's pushing it to think we'd be able to compete with the Coves and Edinburghs of this world. And we all know how that turned out!
I still maintain there was something not right behind the scenes between KH and the players in the early part of the season. There's nothing to back this up but it seemed obvious the players weren't' playing for him for whatever reason.
A parting of the ways was maybe inevitable but the timing is a tad strange? Maybe we're just getting better organised for when we resume?
Be interesting to see who sticks their hand up for the Cliftonhill hot seat. There's always plenty out of work managers with egos way bigger than their ability so we won't be short of candidates.
Anyhoo, thanks for the memories (from 18/19), Kevin. This season, not so much! Good luck in your next job and I hope it all works out for you.

Looking from afar as I do, I was hoping we would kick on from the end of last season and be further up the table than we are. Think Kevin leaving is the right decision, but who comes next, I have no idea. Let's hope the board get it right and we can push on

I see that the club are inviting applications for the position. They close at noon on the 23rd of May.

Not entirely sure advertising the vacancy on the club website is a great idea! Anyone worth their salt in the game will already know we’re hunting for Harper’s replacement.

I’ll bet they’ve had several applications prior to this but it’s a formality clubs for through.

Also on the Twitter feed. Makes sense to me. Where else would you put it if not on social media. Surely a simple formality to do so in modern times.
