I believe that there should be no complacency. Look at Edinburgh, Cove at this level. They have catapulted themselves to the top of league two on the back of wealthy benefactors. Their overheads are considerably less than the the clubs with “history or pedigree”. No old fashioned stadia to maintain which is a considerable drain on this clubs finances. Ask Bury et al. More important let’s get a team signed for supporting next year and encourage the new management team.

Just a wee update, 13 players signed who will all be hoping to be straight into the first team. 10 players from last seasons reserves a lot of whom will be pushing the first team squad for places and others still being looked at. Everyone at the club is working hard, and we DO have a team/squad signed for supporting, support that is and has been greatly appreciated by everyone at the club 👍🏼

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53514358Just been reading this - think it is interesting players will drop a few divisions in the hope of success / money. Admittedly only a handful. I was also enjoying the statement of the EK manager. If that doesn't get the club going this season... It's a very good article but as several others have mentioned , the journalist could have saved himself a lot of bother and revealed cash as the reason several players from higher leagues are moving to the 5th tier. That is not a criticism of the players involved: it makes sense for them to earn as much from the game as possible but just not let us dress up these moves in anything other than it's for the money. Like others on this forum I find it galling to hear people point the finger at certain unnamed teams who are treading water or just making up the numbers in Scottish football. It's not being paranoid to think that we are one of the teams being thought about. People who make these comments obviously don't have a clue about the effort that goes on behind the scenes to keep clubs like the Rovers and others at our level to keep going and to remain competitive in very challenging circumstances. We have rich history but that alone isn’t enough to guarantee our SPFL status. The clubs that are spending big will have a time limit on that - even Haughey has given a deadline to QP for funding them. One thing we do need to do is up our game on attracting additional revenue to the club via digital lottery and sponsorship. As far as signings go they have been underwhelming so far and I understand the manager still has time and Rovers will beback of the queue when it comes to signings. It definitely looks as if the club are pinning their hopes on players coming through from the reserves which has no guarantees, I’m hoping we have left a bit of leeway to sign more experienced players if needed. That being said we have been in this position before and it really narrows down to the manager getting the best out of the players he has.

Restart has been jeopardised by Aberdeen players who went to a pub on Saturday night. 2 have the virus and 6 are isolating which has put off their match at Perth this weekend.
It’s hard to believe they were so stupid, especially when their City was already clearly at a higher risk.

Hope they are hammered by the club. Selfish behaviour which could have a huge impact on other clubs and their fans as well as their own. Absolute morons. Would even go as far as sacking the lot of them.

Another idiot breaks the rules putting at risk the health of everyone and the survival of our football clubs. Send him packing.

When these highly paid "role models" break the rules I'm very concerned that when the other 3 leagues get back players are likely to break the rules. Most are part-time so have work as well as family and football activities and either accidentally or deliberately may transgress the rules.

Aberdeen FC situation was embarassing enough for the club who rightly dealt with the players who let themselves down too.
This latest incident should really see Celtic considering dismissing the prat bolingoli.
Absolute idiot ignoring the manager his club and comprimising the scottish game as a whole. The covid on going concerns is not going away and i hope i am wrong but i do suspect there will be other prats like this around. As eluded to, how are the smaller clubs going to best manage measures that may be required to put in place. Not easy.
Makes you wonder if we will see any fans through the turnstiles At the start of the season.

It’s been indicated that teams out with the Premier can start training from the 24th of August. This has severely upset Hearts who’ve already started and must now stop again. Maybe they’ll sue!

I was also enjoying the statement of the EK manager. If that doesn't get the club going this season... Just on Ambitious club Darvel, they were pictured and in the news a couple of weeks ago after being caught training at the height of lockdown, the chairman claimed it was unofficial so no wrong was being done, however the full management and coaching team were there and all players wearing heart monitors, Now they have been accused of playing colville Park ams. ( the managers old club) in a friendly, this has got that bad the manager is on pue and bovril saying it didn't happen however there is apparently a video, The best laugh now however is ex aberdeen player craig bryson, saying their changing room facilities ( built by the manager) put celtic Park and ibrox to shame, even outclass Wembley, just so happens he is the General managers nephew https://www.thescottishsun.co....rooms-wembley-aberdeen-bryson/ Rumours of where they get their money from arent the nicest either, the finger being pointed to the manager, who is accused of alledgedly illegal sources. He owns the black rooster chain of restaurants.

The Darvel incident regarding training happened a few weeks ago, in fact before the Aberdeen lads went for a sherry. Haven’t heard about the friendly with Colville Park and haven’t seen anything at all on social media about that. For someone who runs an amateur team it’s very frustrating so god knows how the teams like the Rovers feel right now. However given that the SFA have been given a last warning by wee Nippy then the cancellation of training for everyone over 18 isn’t a surprise. They can’t control what happens at some amateur clubs and if what Chris said is true then it just proves the point. Not even sure that we will be allowed to go straight to contact training on the 24th Aug but any more of delay to that pushes the start date of the season further back.
