Will be interesting to see what the selection criteria for supporting the National League was. National League hoping for £2 - £3m per month. This amount alone until the end of the season would pretty much guarantee all SPFL1 and SPFL2 clubs survive till the end of the 2020-21 season. Over to Messers Doncaster et al to be lobbying both UK and Scot Gov. The full BBC article can be found here

As a Hartlepool fan I’m delighted to hear this news. Hopefully the Scottish government will say they can’t afford this and let us have fans back instead.

This is (presumably) subject to the Barnett Formula, where new spending by the UK govt in England on matters which are devolved must also be met with increased funding for Scotland, Wales and NI, roughly based on population size. It would, however, be up to the devolved governments how they spend the money - they can do with it what they like and don't need to spend it on the same subject area as in England. But you would expect the SFA to lobby the Scottish govt to give any additional money to them.....no doubt they would come up with a fair and equitable distribution method that keeps every club happy!

It's been agreed that the UK government will chip in £10,000,000 for the 3 months from October to December. As the National League, including the North & South divisions has 67 teams that means around £50k each per month if split equally!

The UK government have announced a £300 million investment in low interest loans to help mens football, womens football, gymnastics, badminton, motorsport, Rugby league, rugby union, horse racing greyhound racing, ice hokey, netball and basketball
All in England, Scottish sport entitled to nothing

In fact confirms what we’ve all known for a very long time. Londons government is only interested in themselves... if they could have gotten away with it they would only provide it for the Vanarama Southern League.

To be fair, think sport is a devolved matter? ... so really wouldn't be expecting anything unless the league was suspended and furlough /HMRC came into play.
Separately I think a Club or Trust zoom meeting/ statement to fans would be useful at present, on finances ...even a green, amber, red....two whatsapp thumbs up, or whatever.
No need to give away to others what's in the bank but an indication would be good. Had a look at Kelty's the other day and they seem to submit "filleted" accounts for this purpose (or cos they're dodgy 😁)

SFA are currently looking at funding possibilities for clubs hit by the pandemic.
As far as I understand this is funded in the same way as England so hopefully some support coming

Do the Scottish Government not get a percentage of extra spending under the Barnett Formula? I thought it was ~10% which would be ~ £30m. Not sure if it needs to be spent on sport though.

Not sure if there will be a cash injection or where it will come from but I'm certain it is needed . Even if life starts to get back to something like normal by the spring that will be a full year without income from matches which at our level accounts for a higher proportion of total income than further up the leagues.
To answer tinfoilhatman's point, I think the way our club is structured the BOD would have to inform shareholders first about the accounts for 2019/2020. But some general update to fans would be worthy of consideration by the board.
