Agreed on the pace aspect and staying compact.
We need to hold the ball up to capitalise on the wider players pace as they both were narrow when out of possession. It has to be an early ball wide or up to strikers feet to play wider as they support.
There were signs of it working at times last night though and as players become accustomed to each other.
There's definitely enough pace to worry teams and I'm confident we will do well.
As for Cairney , I believe he is a bit away from fitness yet but will clearly be a great asset when available.

Another promising step against a team who were in Division 1 last year, and our recent encounters usually ended in an odd goal defeat from them. The penalties all round were flawless and was beginning to think the coaching staff were next to line up ! Still a slight worry at goals conceded from set pieces/corners which have been our Achilles heel in recent years when Michael Dunlop left. Moving in the right direction though and the real stuff starts on Saturday - I am not referring to the Old Firm !

Haven’t seen the goals back, but Goodie was adamant he was pushed in the back for the first goal.

I thought that it was a typical match between two teams at a similar level. One more experienced Stranraer and the wee Rovers promoting youth. I thinks an experienced head is needed at the heart of the defence to guide the youngsters through. It’ll be a long season if this doesn’t happen no matter how many goals we score. Really enjoyed the game. Aitken looked good and deserves all the plaudits he’s receiving. Roll on Saturday and the start of a successful league campaign.

Just watched the highlights - great quality.
Still can't believe how that penalty shoot-out turned out - brilliant penalty taking from both teams!
