Following his bizarre comments to the tabloid media (and his poor record in all domestic competition so far this year) should Brian Reid be sacked/resign as Manager of the club?

Following his bizarre comments to the tabloid media (and his poor record in all domestic competition so far this year) should Brian Reid be sacked as Manager of the club? Think this poll is out of order Jordan. You are entitled to put it up of course but it’s not the way to go about things. Ronnie

Totally disagree, Ronnie. We can’t discuss or debate via our usual face-to-face forum(s) so, naturally, the Message Board is the next best thing.
I expect the usual paranoia about hacks patrolling this site will crop up, but Reid has already fed them two meaty (and hugely embarrassing) stories over the last month, so no need to worry.
He has proven to be a liability and I’m surprised, as an ex-Chairman, you’ve not really voiced an opinion on the matter. The club is a laughing stock (again) yet the silence is deafening. No statement from the club forthcoming distancing themselves from his comments.
Reminds me of the silence when the Brogan experiment was going horribly wrong week after week before our very eyes...not that you’d know much about that.
Jordie.

Polls are always controversial but nonetheless a valid way of getting the feeling of fans accross. For me his record is dreadful and his press interviews embarrassing to the club. Just be glad we're not at games then you would really know what we think of him. Time to leave.

24 hours have passed without the club making any statement. Covid-19 has affected Albion Rovers fans and employees directly. Moreover the work the club does in the Community is going to get tarnished now. Foodbank use in Coatbridge is amongst the highest in the whole country and it is only exacerbated by Covid 19 or just a runny nose as the manager would put it. I would not be disappointed if Reid walked.

As a socialist it just doesn’t sit comfortably with me taking part in a vote calling for someone to get the sack. Smacks a bit of tarry torches and pitchforks too. As maturer voices have called for on related threads, a statement from the club clarifying their position on this important issue is the way forward. I’m sure the board are working on this and have also had a discussion with Brian about this behind the scenes. Ronnie

As another "more mature" poster it's not just about his covid comments but also his record. Poor judgement compounded by a poor record.

Another clunky and ill-considered remark in a dodgy tabloid, but excuse me if I don’t join the sack-happy torch-bearing mob. Of more immediate concern is the spectre of point-deduction in the aftermath of what happened to St Mirren and Killie this afternoon. Brace yourselves for even worse news, comrades.

Good points Cliftonbill. This afternoon’s news is worrying. I’m sure the SPFL will take each case on merit and decide appropriately. If car sharing is the issue then possibly our part time status will go for us. The worst scenario is that we lose the Cowdenbeath game 3 nil and get a suspended fine. Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that. Ronnie

Looks like fans are bracing themselves for forfeiting the Cowden game to cap off a poor week for the club. Great - another exclusive Brian Teid interview in the pipeline.

The nature of a poll, Ronnie, offers two (or more) options. It calls for nothing - merely canvassing opinion. Not sure how which political ideology you subscribe to should impact on you having an opinion.
As for the torch and pitchfork nonsense - Reid has lit the torches and personally handed out the pitchforks with his comments. People closely associated with the club have been impacted, directly, by COVID and the Manager decides to make stupid - and largely unfounded - comments about a very serious and dangerous virus. Crass and akin to negligence.
The club should be hammered if car sharing guidance wasn’t followed as a result of our ‘part-time’ status. No excuse for not sticking by the rules.

The club should be hammered if car sharing guidance wasn’t followed as a result of our ‘part-time’ status. No excuse for not sticking by the rules. Car sharing guidance= From the First Minister - “If there is no alternative to car sharing with members of another household then everyone in the car should follow the advice from Transport Scotland.” From Transport Scotland -“ We recognise that there may be occasions when there is no alternative but to travel with people from out with your household. This should be limited as much as possible. On such occasions, you should: keep to small groups of people, up to 6 at any one time keep your distance and take care entering and exiting the vehicle sit as far apart as possible in the vehicle, avoiding face-to-face maintain good ventilation by keeping the car windows open wear a face-covering, unless you are exempt clean your hands before and after your journey if the vehicle is your responsibility, clean the door handles and other areas that people touch. If you regularly share transport whether it is a car or minibus or other private vehicle, try and share with the same people each time” To my knowledge the players involved were following the above guidance, so we can knock that on the head as well. 👍🏼

We can knock it on the head? Is that so? Let’s be realistic, surely the players should have exhausted all possible options before deciding to share transport to a game, no?
How do you know, for a fact, that all guidance was followed? Are you able to verify the above precautions were taken before travelling? Let’s be realistic, Jaydee, our squad is full of young guys who probably haven’t even thought about the risk(s) posed by the virus. It’s all very well saying you, personally, have faith that it was, but with the number of positive tests it seems doubtful.

He's managed 5 league games for god sake and took charge of the club in the middle of a global pandemic. If he's got 3 points in 10 games time then maybe but come on.
