www.bbc.co.uk/sport/scotland/55254701Β£10m in grants for clubs outside the SPL. Overall package greater than provided for by the Barnett formula (following UK govt funding for English clubs), so looks like a good outcome. Average grant is about Β£150k per club (if Highland and Lowland clubs are included), but I presume League 2 clubs will get much less than that, with the bulk going to Championship clubs. Hopefully the SFA are capable of dividing it up fairly!

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/scotland/5525470120 million to rugby, 20 million in loans to the premier clubs and 10 million in grants to be shared by the championship, league 1, league 2, lowland league, Highland league and women's game as far as I can tell unless it applies to football below that level as well. I'll let someone else do the maths!

Possibly the most hopeful and unlikely line I've seen on this forum ππ

A fair division, 95% to the Rovers and the rest shared out evenly.
We have deserved it.

I would be very very surprised if the package worked out better than the English teams got.

Hopefully the SFA are capable of dividing it up fairly! A step in right direction. I doubt League 2 teams will get anything like Β£150k. The fact that itβs a grant and not a loan is important. Hopefully, there will be no strings attached and that whatever the sum is that it goes a long way to filling the gap left by what will end up being about a year without fans. Ronnie

Good news any help is welcomed. In hindsight this season should have never started. Hindsight is a great thing.

I would be very very surprised if the package worked out better than the English teams got. It depends which ones you're talking about. The 92 Football League clubs got nothing at all from the UK Govt, given how wealthy the English Premier League is. The EPL then distributed Β£250m from their own coffers to the EFL clubs - Β£200m in loans to Championship clubs and Β£50m in grants to the 48 clubs in Leagues 1 & 2. As far as I can determine, Β£35m was made available by the UK Govt to English clubs, with Β£21m of that going to the 66 National League clubs (the first 2 steps in non-league) - that's an average of Β£360k per club. The other Β£14m went to step 3-6 clubs, which is nearly 900 clubs; an average of Β£15k each. If the Barnett formula had been rigidly applied, Scottish clubs would have got 10.6% of the English total - only Β£3.7m, but they got Β£10m, so the Scottish Govt must have found an extra Β£6.3m from their own coffers. The Scottish Sports Minister is Joe Fitzpatrick, so he seems to have done a pretty good job. I'm not including the Β£20m for the SPL in any of this as that is a loan and will have to be paid back. We'll have to see what our share of the grant is, and it won't be zillions given there are a lot of clubs involved. But for Scottish football overall it's hard to argue that it's anything other than a good deal compared with England.
